History of the Earth...that's the convincing reason.
The Earth has been through far greater "threats" and extremes and is still here...It warming up historically also results in an explosion of life. -

That's an argument that the rock that is the earth will survive climate change, not an explanation for why climate change isn't something we need to worry about. -

No it's a 4.5 billion record of climate change...changes of which you can't imagine...and yet here we are...so a few degrees temperature change or a few % more of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is NOTHING...in fact...again, life THRIVED when the Earth was much hotter than it is now and CO2 content was higher.
4.5 billion year record > 200 years of human records and a few blue haired nutters who are so self absorbed with themselves they think the Earth and life on it will end if they do -

No serious person thinks climate change will destroy the earth or all life.
What it will do is lower standards of living in several different ways and cause catastrophic sea level rise, reducing land mass available to human civilisation.
Why shouldn't we worry about that? -

Um because we are but one insignificant species out of millions that have existed.
You're making my point...self absorption and self interest...it's nothing to do with habitats or saving the whales etc...it's about humans saving their own skin.
Good riddance I say, life will have a better standard of living without us and something better and more worthy might come along in a million years or so...think about the greater good rather than the self. -
2024-08-05 at 8:56 PM UTCBe crazy for a new speciies to develop in a hundred million years and look at our few fossils the same way we do the dinosaur
future living organisms be like "oh the stabby one with the big cock is my favorite the Bradasuarus" -

Oh, well fair enough. If I didn't care about humanity at all I probably wouldn't care about climate change either. -
2024-08-05 at 9:33 PM UTCthat's a valid point, and it's not like it's gonna get really bad for everyone that survives just kinda bad
