Kinda makes me wonder if this was a common occurrence during other horror movies of the time, and it was just sort of a psychological phenomenon of sorts. Placebo, if you will.
I understand we're far more desensitized these days but it's still difficult to grasp that that many people during that time were that sensitive to a movie that rrally wasnt THAT shocking or bizarre. I can understand some isolated incidents.
I kinda wish it was like that today lol. It would make me happy to go to new horror movies with the anticipation that I might genuinely faint or vomit or have a panic attack from the sheer TERROR of the film.
Instead Im relegated to sitting expressionless eating Mac and cheese watching cartels skin people alive.
So sad. -
