When you get into the implications and the logical conclusions thereof, that's where you run into a problem. The logical conclusion to not killing shit we didn't need to, is populations might fall out of equilibrium, and there'd be some chaos until shit stabilized. The logical conclusion of judging that another sentient life form is unworthy of your consideration, and subject to destruction for your foodstuffs...that gets a bit more weird.
Idk I still eat meat, but I acknowledge that not doing that is something to strive for. If I were hunting and killing my own food, I'd almost feel better about it. But the cold, uncalculated judgement that has to be present in cases of factory farming and meat production....it causes a fuckton of cognitive dissonance. And usually that's a red flag. In any other context we'd think it monstrous. (And we do- i.e. Yulin, etc)

It's not that. Generally people who commit non violent crimes are either given the chance to turn themselves in, or they get the mid-day, unarmed police escort "walk of shame". Whenever something is outside the norm, any intelligent person is going to question why that is. And when fucking CNN "just happens" to be right there as the swat team makes armed entry into an old dudes house, that's even more sketchy. The fact that Stone seems like a greaseball to me doesn't distract me from that fact. Unless they have some serious other information that we're not privy to - i.e., a history of violence, owning a bunch of high caliber weapons, a vow not to be taken into custody- then I can't think of any other reason to do things like they did. If Sasha Obama had been dragged out of her dorm in the middle of the night by the local PD for weed posession, and FOX News was on hand to catch it all on film, I would wonder the same exact thing.
