What's really scary is we already live in that world, and it's not because of people with guns. It's because some people are old and frail, some people are petite, and some people are fuckhuge and have bad intentions. Because some people have knives.
And I'm not even saying people should carry because they should be scared already (although they really should be). They should be carrying, and familiar with firearms, as a part of their moral duty to protect each other. I'm a bit of an anarchist like that - I believe in collective self-defense, and I don't really sympathize will people who are too scared to own a gun, and by association scared of anyone who does because that person is necessarily more powerful than them (when it's their choice not to equalize that power imbalance because they're too pussy to have a gun). :^) -

Open carry is probably actually safer, tbh. At least when dealing with cops. Having seen at least one black dude get shot after announcing he was (legally) carrying a concealed weapon, it'd be a lot better if the cops could see where your gun is to put everyone at ease. That said, concealed carry keeps liberal fannies from having panic attacks every time they walk into a McDonalds, so there's some merit to concealed carrying for their peace of mind.
Optimally everyone would familiarize themselves with firearms and become comfortable with the idea of seeing them in public (open carry culture), but I don't see that ever happening. Genuinely seems as though many are equally as afraid of owning/using a firearm as they are of having one used against them. Which is unfortunate. -
