She was freaking out, broke a mirror and said she was gonna slit her wrists with the glass. I figured she needed some big strong men with rubber globes to come over and make sure she didn't do that. It was also sort of petty revenge for all the bullshit times my parents have called the cops on me. Cops knocking on my bedroom door 'cause I said they were "lucky I love them, or I'd kill them" during an argument. I basically said I couldn't kill family, so for some fucking reason they called the cops on family. *spits*
Other than that I've called 911 once for an ambulance when I was meth psychosis'd and thought I was dying/poisoned.
So twice. In my life. Not that I'm afraid of calling the cops or anything, I just don't often have the inclination. Plus, cops are srs bsns... I don't like the idea of subjecting people to their bullshit if it can at all be avoided. I'll let myself be fucked over rather than calling the cops to fuck someone over on my behalf, because 911 ruins lives and most of the shit people do to me doesn't ruin mine. A criminal record and all its consequences are a pretty uneven punishment for most of the ways in which people can wrong you. -

It's just an interesting argument... that maybe trannies are (at least in part, or are capable of being) a positive transhumanist response to the vacancies left by biologically natural women who wanted to do something other than be traditional mommies and homemakers.
There are certainly a large and vocal number of trans people out there who aren't interested in anything "traditional", but there is the oft-ignored (by radicals on both sides) subset of both trans men and women who want nothing more than to be good mothers and fathers and actually act like normal human beings. Trannies aren't all radical leftist political activist types who want to destroy the family unit. -

It'd be odd for people to aspire to achieve my aesthetic, certainly. I don't even like my aesthetic. I'm repulsed by myself. I mean... my aesthetic is the result of a partially successful attempt at achieving an altogether different aesthetic from the one I was naturally endowed with.
That being said, if your aspirations are wholly controlled by aesthetic - by what your reaction is when you SEE a person - that's pretty sad. Intellectually, it wouldn't be any weirder for one to aspire to be like me than it would for them to aspire to be like you. I'm just as rational as you, after all.~
PS: I find it odd that a proponent of transhumanism can look so poorly upon transgenderism. It's essentially just biological transhumanism - extreme body modification via endocrine and surgical manipulation. The cognitive benefits alone of this testosterone-free, estrogen enriched existence justify my pursuit of it. -

Nobody has an umbilical cord as an adult. Men still have their penises as adults. Changes you make to a baby's genitals last a lifetime. Babies have a right to bodily integrity. That said, if there weren't any associated health risks I could see people advocating for lotus births over having the umbilical snipped on similar (but not entirely analogous) grounds. -

Even if these were all true and even if you could make the argument that those benefits outweigh any potential risks ("if done right" is a pretty big if), it doesn't excuse doing it to newborn children/people who are too young to provide medically ethical consent. The fact that circumcision isn't as bad as some forms of FGM doesn't mean it's not bad. Botched circumcisions are pretty atrocious too. And of course, even a perfect circumcision results in less penile sensitivity.
America is literally the only country in the world that routinely performs circumcisions for non-religious, non-therapeutic reasons. I can think of ZERO secular countries that have medical associations that condone non-therapeutic circumcision of infants other than America.
