I think you'll find the trolls here are a mixed bag. You might say all of us are trolls, to varying degrees, but that's just what this cyber world of fear and scarcity does to the human spirit. I'm sure you understand, coming from where you do. Based on what you've told me here, I think our communities are natural allies. -

I'm not sure exactly what condition needs to be fulfilled although I'm sure it's pretty simple. All the same, I think we would benefit from temporarily removing these.

You, on the other hand, I would say have the least wrong iteration, "Why would they enable him by taking the money?" The answer to both is that he's a savvy predator who wants to keep being a predator. Imagine if Bill Krozby had double the IQ and unlimited financial resources to take on shysters who do his dirty work, and that's what we're dealing with.

Really, who cares what some shyster fuck tells you? The worst that can happen is you have to file for bankruptcy because of court costs. I mean that there was likely a palpable but not explicit threat and it allowed him to pay these women off and continue raping them with no fear of retaliation. Your assessment requires that they were relatively in command of their emotional and intellectual faculties, which they likely weren't. You assume they could have reasonably dropped everything in their lives pursuing doomed charges against a beloved millionaire. Then his lawyer says that they can either have a bunch of money and never have to talk about their experience again, or they can relive it in a courtroom many times over while they go bankrupt and probably still lose. Your expectations of these rape victims just aren't realistic.
It's not a coincidence that most of these victims took the money: there was coercion involved. A rape victim isn't in the mindset to be handling their legal affairs, so when some jedi puts the squeeze on them, they give. Painting the situation as though they're enabling him with full cognizance doesn't apprehend the full scope of his crime because when they were given the choice, it really wasn't presented as a choice at all. -
