But since there's this clear line, and it's not causing issues in the larger society, there's this weird impulse to say "let them organize themselves how they want". Like in the same way I think the treatment of women in many tribal african societies is clearly wrong but I don't think that can justify a western state using police or military force to try and "fix" things. I mean obviously there's a big difference between annexing a country to enforce civil rights and maintaining consistent law within your own borders but I think it's more of a matter of scale than kind. Like there's this continuum where society has the lowest levels of regulation over a person (I mean there's still a lot of regulation, but you can choose a lot of things in your life, make bad decisions, or harm yourself and the society doesn't intervene for the most part), then over families (you can't hit your kids too much but you can raise them as nudists), then communities where you can vote on the trivialities of governance like where city hall is who gets the contract to supply electricity but you don't get a choice in providing electricity. Like you might or might not expect your wife to do the cooking, but if you accept the decision of your buddy to do the opposite but we wouldn't entrust the state to make either decision. In the same way, I feel like the social liberties the Chinese enclave has taken for itself are more or less within the circle of what cultural communities can elect for themselves.
i used to be the type that cared about others. using the example you mentioned, id feel bad if a woman was being held against her will and sold, and if i had the ability id do something about it. if i saw a homeless on the street id want to help them...and have. when i was a little kid i was coming out of mcdonalds in queens and saw a bum propped up against a telephone so i gave him all of my food because i felt sorry for him.
now, after decades more of observing the human condition, the only mindset i have is me and mine...i dont give a glittering fuck about anyone elses existence. if they want to live a certain way...live it. if they dont...then dont. leave me alone and ill leave you alone. i know of someone who is discovering what happens when the policy of live-and-let-live isnt adhered to and is now costing them about $800 a month and an additional $1500 or so a year...and has been for about the last two years. -

Too true, I am just mentioning a personal anecdote. This same lady was actually raised catholic (she's Filipino). She was originally married to her husbands brother, but according to her he died while trapped in a fire in a garage. Apparently the police didn't even investigate his death, according to her. Anyways after he died, she had to marry his brother. I don't know why, I think it's pretty fucked up, she says it was for cultural reasons (He is from Sudan). They don't love each other. Pretty sure he thinks he's some sort of gangster. He also probably has a second family in Sudan. The lady I'm talking about seems to be at least semi-retarded, like she has problems forming coherent sentences sometimes. Worlds a fucked up place, man. -

Exactly. You are looking for your best interest and so should the cultures you want no part of except for exploiting them.
I don't expect anyone to forget their roots but you have to abandon some practices you were used and entitled to and pick up others you may not find as attractive if you move to a place with cultural differences. They left their country because they wanted more than the bare minimum it takes to survive. At the end of the day, humans are animals, and our desires naturally grow to fit the box we're in. It's self evident that people are born with the spirit of industry and growth. That holds just as true for immigrants: people have ambitions, and welfare isn't good enough for anyone who wasn't raised to be complacent. And people coming from hard times in destitute countries where handouts aren't a thing, were certainly not raised to be complacent. -

You are retarded. Race is basically a worthless concept in biology and science at large. There is no good or concrete definition for it on any scientific level, and as a classification it basically tells us nothing.
