Of course not! So why do it? To virtue signal? Play games? Hand hold? That's what I mean when I say Lanny doesn't have a clue what he is doing, because when you do things like he just did, it makes it painfully obvious he doesn't. Now, Rodent will come back twice as MAAD and twice as ugly (although the later may be expecting a miracle). That's all a move like that accomplishes. It just makes them come back more determined to be even more of a spammy pain in the ass. And, no, I never said I would ban Trump. Trumpaldo doesn't spam in the topical forums all that much to make it an issue. Lanny always like to turn to extremes when I lay the truth on the table, but that doesn't make him right.

I know he means well and it's from the heart. But there are situations where the heart is the wrong thing to do, and that's why I criticize him so much and point out he doesn't have a clue what he is doing. It's not that I'm saying he's a bad guy or anything, or that he stinks, or that he's dirty, I am simply drawing attention to the fact that his methodology is completely off, and will only lead to the exact same fatal failures zok encountered.

There were no laws against proper authority. And people came out of the system better, wiser, stronger and well able to cope with the pressures and problems of real life.

Why the fuck would I do that? Would you plant a rose in a shitheap? You ain't gonna smell the flower over the shit smell anyways, so why bother? First, remove the shitheap, then plant the roses. Try to do it cart before horse and it's useless. This is something I had been trying to get across to zok for years. What sense is building a mansion on a pile of sand? No matter how grand the house is, it won't matter, because the foundation is sand. The entire house will crumble in the more you try to "improve" it. I'm just sick of the backwards logic. The doubletalk. The inane excuses. If you want a really great BBS board, you have to have a solid plan, solid rules, solid organization, not just some anything-goes circus, where the children swing on the monkeybars all day and screech at the top of their lungs. Lanny is an ultra-Liberal, and ultra-Liberalism and successful BBS sites don't mix, but he refuses to admit that truth, even at this late date. I find that frustrating, in a way, but hey, nothing really phases me at all. I just ride along and observe the scenery. -

You can't treat deliberate spammers like Rodent with 24-hour bans. All that does is worsen the situation. Now, I know this opinion is not popular, but it is the truth. TheDarkRodent's account should have been deleted as a spambot and his entire IP subset banned. If he came back under another account, that one should be banned as well. It ain't hard math. Really, it isn't.
