   Actually, cruise missiles have made most navies wholly ineffective in any actual all out war. There's a reason the age of battleships is over. Submarines and carriers/launchers is where it's at. However land based systems likely outrange them by a long shot. Day 1 of a war with China, many ships would be sunk in the pacific. We now have bombers capable of intercontinental missions. That's never been seen before in an all out war.

   We always have fire season here in Vancouver it gets smoked out during the summer months. But not this year. This year was among the wettest summers. We didn't even have a campfire ban this year.

    Yes. Someone in BC getting an elective surgery done in Washington is much like someone who lives in Las Vegas going to California for a surgery. It could be a rare operation they do not perform closer to home. Or they may not have the capacity to perform it closer to home. There could be a specific doctor a patient wishes to see. Besides, it's literally an hour drive for me to the US border. Why wouldn't I consider going to a hospital in the US if money wasn't a factor? Could cut down on the wait times. In other countries like Norway, the wealthy still have the option to go to private doctors to skip the line.
    
    Also of course the ultra wealthy are going to wanna go to some renowned doctor. More renowned doctors to choose from in the US.
