It's not a "giant magnet" you dimwit. Magnetic forces are virtually nonexistent with regards to orbital mechanics. The exception is in the case of something like a magnetar. On cosmological scales the only thing that matters really is gravity. And the Earth has a lot of tolerance for where it could be, without affecting life on Earth much at all. -
