You're not supposed to take 1.5x dose, more doesn't make you sleepier.
Melatonin isn't a "sleeping pill", the pill will just induce production of the hormone melatonin in your body that signals to your body it's time to sleep. When you wake up in the middle of the night to piss and flick on the light switch, then are unable to sleep, it's because the light disrupted your melatonin. Taking more than the recommended dose will just fuck with your production. And it won't make you sleep by itself.
You need to take 1 melatonin, make sure the room is dark and lay in bed quietly with no phone or whatever. You'll go to sleep in ~15 minutes. All melatonin does is signal sleepytime to your body. -
