Most bureaucrats would be too afraid to go to a place that is being shelled.

have you forgotten how Amnesty Amnesia International had to apologize for its report ?

entirely misses the point of the post - arming civilians makes them legitimate military targets, which makes claims of Russian forces targeting civilians moot. Bragging about it makes such claims very difficult to take seriously. I get the feeling this is just a PR exercise though; that they're pushing this 'ROC' meme to get people to stop referring to it as Volkssturm.

You might have been able to make the claim that civilians 'wanted' to fight back during the first or second mobilisation as opposed to the fifth they're on at the moment, literally snatching women and elderly men off the street, but even then it was not optional and you had a huge swathe of fighting-age men fleeing both East and West

I was working 2 blocks behind Macy's in NYC on the 6th floor of the Mary McFadden building on 11SEP01. I was living in NE Jersy 20 miles from the GW. 6 months later I went into the city for dinner down at the Fulton Fish Market. The sidewalk heading into the market was right on the edge of the fenced off area from ground zero. Every month or so they would move the fence a few blocks closer to the actual site. My point is that 6 months afterwards you could feel the heat and smell the burn from the fence line. Jet fuel and office furniture does not burn forv6 months,.

Graham Phillips, who has been accused of being a conduit for pro-Russian propaganda, is one of 42 new designations added to the UK’s Russia sanctions list. Other additions include Russia’s minister and deputy minister of justice and two nephews of the Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, who was himself placed under sanctions by Britain in March.

lol, the UK is sanctioning one of its own citizens for daring to run a video blog showing what it's like on the ground in the LDNR.

the whole story behind that is ridiculous

the turbines were from NS1; there was damage or a breakdown or something so the turbines were removed by the manufacturer (Siemens) for repair in Germany. they couldn't be repaired in Germany so they had to be sent to a Siemens facility in Canada, where the Canadian government essentially took them hostage at the behest of Zelensky. both Russia and Germany officially protested this, and Canada caved around a week later on the basis that withholding the turbines would deplete Germany's gas reserves even faster, so they supposedly released them... only for them to be 'stolen in transit'.

  12. GENEVA, 4 July. /TASS/. The plan for the restoration of Ukraine is currently estimated at $ 750 billion, Kyiv sees the confiscated assets of the Russian Federation as the main source of its financing. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this on Monday at an international conference in Luganno.

"Who should pay for the recovery plan, which is already valued at $750 billion? We believe that the confiscated assets of Russia and Russian oligarchs should be the key source of funding," he said, speaking at a conference on the restoration of Ukraine.

"The frozen assets of Russia, according to various estimates, range from $300 billion to $500 billion. Some countries have already begun the process of not just freezing, but also confiscating these assets. We are grateful to Germany for the first steps, and are grateful to Canada and the United States for preparing national legislation," continued Shmyhal, expressing hope for the same steps from all partners.

LMAO looks like Ukraine will be taking the proceeds of Russian assets confiscated by the west.

that's more talking about VR and foregoing the real world for more idealistic dream worlds, eventually leading the outside world to ruin

what I mean is that we're at a point where external attacks on your brain are becoming increasingly plausible even for non-specialists (the conspiracy-minded have talked about the possibility of radio devices, like LRAD and V2K systems and even cellular phone signals being able to affect your thought patterns for decades now), and people will naturally seek protection from companies offering solutions. think neuralink, or cyberbrain tech from Ghost in the Shell.

think about how little you understand how your computer operates - even specialists can't keep up with the deluge of new technologies, especially since so much of it is proprietary and not fully documented (if at all). in recent years we had Windows Telemetry secretly linked into everything VC++ compiles, Intel Management Engine being able to create network connections and datastreams that are totally invisible to the operating system... one of the most intricate things I've ever seen was exposed by Snowden - the NSA is actually able to rewrite the firmware on many harddrives to secretly store and transfer data without any component beyond the harddrive able to detect it.

now apply that to a chip embedded inside you that you have no way to directly understand or control. could you even dig it out without the chip stopping you 'for your own safety'?

consider that you have the option to either be vulnerable to people fucking with your brain remotely or to go to a company for protection, where they embed a chip that blocks that external interference but you have no way of knowing what else it does.

you lose sovereignty of your mind either way.

same point as when people say NK relies too much on WWII-era artillery systems - since WWII those systems have been responsible for more deaths than any other weapon unless you go super general like 'gun' or something.
