Also on the 'earthquake' - there are now various stories relating to this - the prominent ones at the moment being either a tunnel network destroyed in South Lebanon or an accidental munitions explosion just inside israel, suggesting that the seismic reading initially reported was either false or incorrect.

Basically it seems like it was similar to the Iranian strike on the US base after the Soleimani assassination - the people demanded blood, but the military knew that it was suicidally reckless to go whole hog and conduct a major bombing campaign. It now seems likely that the israeli preparation report was leaked intentionally to give israel justification to 'abandon their plans for a major attack', ie 'Iran prepared for what we were going to do so now we can't do it anymore'.

There appear to have been two sites hit; two IRGC bases, one of which was likely unmanned as it's mostly just used for PR (it was apparently used for a popular television show a few years back). Several air defence operators have been reported killed but only one has been officially named so far.

israeli news has been recycling images and videos from bombings in Lebanon to claim that the bombings in Iran were extremely destructive.

they're entitled to live there, they're not entitled to a terrorist ethnostate. you also shouldn't use old holy books that you don't even believe in as justification for your retard land grab when archaeological evidence only indicates J*wish control of relatively small tracts of land inside the territory over thousands of years.

lol. the modern state of israel was built on extreme terrorism imported by Ashke J*ws with no connection to the land.

lol. 'israel' keeps Hamas in power specifically to be used as an outlet to disperse Palestinian political will in meaningless violence because they thought it'd be easier to control. Netenyahu has spoken at length about this.

it's been literally confirmed by the IDF, their only caveat being that 'we don't do it anymore', and at this point you'd have to be some kind of retarded golem to believe them.

on the day of October 7 command gave the order to not allow ANYONE to return to Gaza, then gave engagement authority to individual units, emptied 12 attack helicopters' full munitions loads in 8 hours, released multiple videos of random cars being obliterated by those helicopters, then ordered the cars to be buried whole and banned investigation. there are multiple examples in THIS THREAD of the IDF killing hostages because they were more interested in killing kkkhamas than recovering them, as recounted by the few hostages that survived the crossfire.

it's similar to how they talk about the enemy using 'human shields' in one breath but then explain that the 'Dahiyeh doctrine' was meant to target civilians in an effort to break Hezbullah's morale because they couldn't fight them toe-to-toe, just to keep the shabbos-goys sending them money and weapons because they're too stupid and arrogant to consider that they're being manipulated

  11. The jedis murdered the Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

This footage shows a jedi surveillance drone entering a bombed out ruin of a house, where he is sitting in an armchair. He throws a stick at the jedi drone in an act of defiance.

It's like something from a dystopian sci-fi movie.

well its like, yes and no.

maybe you have seen the krugman-bernanke meme and thought that GDP is a joke and that may be true for countries with "fake" economy like the US of anus, but ….

but GDP is still a good measuring stick for countries with REAL, POTENT, productive economy like the rest of the world that still have their industrial bases.

if you see a statement like 60% of russian GDP comes from exporting natural gasses, then you can be sure that indeed, 3/5th of russian economy is supported by the activities of digging and cannistering of these natural gasses.

because unlike the US, russians dont make money by trading derivatives of derivatives of derivatives of derivatives of natural gasses amongst themselves over barrels of vodka.

GDP is still, and will remain to be a valid yardstick to measure economic output of a country, a state, a continent, a village or a bunch of sex workers irregardless of what you feel about it, you may not like it,

but it is what it is.

economic activity inside a system (country), especially when considering a lot of it is unproductive, is not a sensible way to compare one system (country) to another

IDF keeps attacking UNIFIL bases, I have no idea why. not just using them as shields, but actively threatening them, firing small arms at their buildings, launching smoke and tear gas on the grounds etc.

there were several incidents last week leading to the Irish making a formal protest and Italy summoning the israeli ambassador for answers, but there were apparently four incidents yesterday alone

US is deploying THAAD complexes in israel, ostensibly because israel intends to return fire after Iran's missile barrage and is worried about getting an even larger barrage in return.

it'll be interesting to see how it performs; their simulated combat testing has been questionable and it needs to be significantly more precise than other ABMs - rather than exploding near a missile and using shrapnel to destroy it, the 'warhead' is basically just a metal rod meant to directly strike an incoming ballistic missile in the terminal phase.

given that a direct hit requires greater accuracy and modern ballistic missiles can often manoeuvre in the the terminal phase as well as the tracker being susceptible to radio interference, it has a lot of challenges to overcome

  15. Originally posted by ner vegas it's not even really about the nuclear weapons themselves; having them at all is more effective as a deterrent than a practical weapon, and since one or two aren't going to kill a country it opens the door to israel, the US or even some other nuclear country pre-emptively attacking before they can properly arm themselves

the problem with nukes as deterrence is that it doesnt work on those who cant perceive the threats of damage and destruction it brings.

the russians have nukes and yet someone in the US and UK still have considered attacking it, directly or indirectly. obvioulsy russian nuked didnt deter these people because nukes dont work on children,

putin should have threatened to kill bidens dog and strammers cat if russia was ever attacked instead. thats thr kind threat that works on children.

    not nukes/

In 2020 there was a bipartisan effort to supply Isreal with the MOP. Isreal has the US GBU- 57. Officially it can only be delivered by the B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit, or B-21 Raider bombers. However Isreals' fleet of C-130s could easily be modified for delivery. Also there are credible rumors that they have heavily modified a limited number if F- 15s to carry a single GBU-57.

But let's say Iran had say two viable nuclear warheads hidden deep in an unreachable bunker. They can't deliver them without first exposing them. Launch sites, guidance facilities, power logistics, and all manner of necessary infrastructure required to deliver a successful nuclear strike other than the actual warhead are quite vulnerable.

israel has been talking to the US about 'responding' to the Iranian missile attack - they're mostly discussing attacking Iran's energy extraction and distribution infrastructure (gas/oil) but have openly refused to take attacking the nuclear reactors off the table.

Several outlets are hinting at strikes on October 7 as symbolic revenge.
4x Boeing aerial refuelers and 2x heavy cargo planes are headed to the middle east.
General Michael Kurilla is headed there tonight to discuss the plans with israel.

so it seems that israel/the US mapped out Hezbullah's political meeting facilities either through spies or signal intelligence, then proposed a ceasefire through France and used contacts in the Lebanese government to compel Hez (and by extension Nasrallah, since he's one of the highest ranked members in both the military and political councils) to call a meeting to consider it, then bombed multiple facilities that could've been used for the summit.

using a fake peace proposal in order to conduct an assassination is exactly what they did with Soleimani.

    typical.

Roughly 3 hours ago israeli warships fired around 30 missiles at a target at or near Russia's Hmeimim airbase in Syria. The target is not clear but there are confirmed landings even though it was engaged by both Russian and Syrian AD. Russian news is strangely quiet about this, though there have been several minor reports from Syrian news agencies.

Forces on the ground indicate that infrastructure at the airbase was not damaged. Locals are speculating that ammo storage (unclear whether Russian or Syrian) dumps were targeted, or that the attack was meant to deter an Iranian cargo plane (likely carrying weapons and equipment) from landing at the base. Nothing is currently confirmed.

Russian jets are currently in the air on patrol.
