I am just splitting hairs at this point, though, pretty much. Anyways, firearm safety really does reduce the number of accidents, you will never reduce them to zero to make you anti-gun types happy, but people who shouldn't have guns make the rest of us look bad, the ones who are careful. Its sort of the same thing with driving, not everyone is a safe driver but there really isn't anything you can do about that.

I like alts personally. They help populate the forum and make it flow a bit better. I was considering making one, unless…I am one.
I like alts as well, but for different reasons. They bring humor and uncertainty....some of them are unpredictable, and I love a good mystery, so I get to try to guess who's alt is what. It's actually what got me so fascinated with zoklet in the first place, the dozens and dozens of alts that I could argue with and insult at any time of the day or night. Don't matter who is behind them, fuck them all, and fuck you too, probably. Especially you, michael meyers.

Well, not really alone, my son lives in a spare room there while he goes to college, and actually I am hardly ever there. I dropped out of college twice, and worked 60-hour weeks in factories throughout my 20's and early 30's, and once my family fell apart I resorted to full-time criminal enterprises. I know certain people locally, and have some union friends, which is probably integral to my success. I have been charged with several felonies but never convicted of any, and currently I make a sufficient living with minimal effort.
I'm seeing this girl on and off, I'm at her house using her computer right now, but I really can't stand her and she is a fucking slob, but I gotta get laid somehow. Also she knows a lot of people which is good. I don't have a drivers license, for various reasons, so I pay people to drive me around. I have a car that I keep in someone elses' name and I drive it sometimes, but rarely, because I don't like to drive and because if I get caught driving while suspended again, I will probably be a habitual traffic offender.
I am addicted to opiates, usually procured through grey-market channels, such as poppy seeds or pods; occasionally I will buy a couple hundred methadone 10's when they are available, also I smoke weed daily and have been dabbling with benzo's lately. That's it, I am pretty boring. -

I really can't think, even if I could remember the vendors I used, I'm hanging out at this girls house and there are a bunch of women sitting around talking and babbling and I seriously can't even complete a thought. I am about to start yelling 'shut the fuck up' and just walk the fuck out of here. They aren't even saying anything important, one of them is singing christmas songs in a loud voice and replacing the words with 'bing bingle bong, bing bongle bong' over and over.
I am SO close to being homicidal right now. I can't wait to go home and be alone for a while.

So I won't say that "iceland looks like a beth game" is really something I endorse or agree with, but really is there anything stopping, in theory, a virtual experience from being more profound or breathtaking than a real life vista? What are the components of the "I see something beautiful/vast/amazing" experience? The visual sensation is the most obvious, we have screens and GPUs that can render something like that clearly enough that a human observer wouldn't be able to tell the difference. There are things like the smell and temperature of the air, maybe the leadup of physical exertion, but we can easily think of solutions to all these problems. And some of the blockers to natural sights being impressive are removed as well, Everest is the tallest mountain only because physical laws govern it. Wouldn't a mountain twice as tall be more astounding? Can't have that here on earth but it would perhaps even be a trivial experience within a sufficiently advanced VR system.
I'm not so sure that it would be easy to find solutions to these problems, without somehow 'wiring' the virtual environment to the nervous system so that one can reach down and feel the snow, the chill air, the freshness of the outdoors....On the contrary though, fixating on a screen is almost a survival necessity in the first world in 2015. And relatively speaking adopting a high-technology lifestyle does quite a bit to improve your survival rate relative to those without. Of course it's a false dichotomy to say "live in front of a screen or die of AIDS in africa" but it should be obvious that we don't need to pick between health/survival and immersion in technology.

Firearms don't just leap up off the table and shoot people, they are literally inert objects unless manipulated.
In all my years on earth handling firearms, I have never had an accidental discharge, never once. Haven't even come close. If you are careful and responsible, there is nothing to be afraid of.
To be fair, I do know some people that it scares the shit out of me that they have guns, but they are felons and shouldn't have them anyway. This one guy I know traded some pills for a hi-point .45, from a guy who was desperate and sick in withdrawal. Within an hour of acquiring it, he was messing around with it and accidentally fired it, and the round went through his headboard, his bedroom wall and through his living room, while his kids and wife were in the house.
Conversely, I do not know one, even one, legal gun owner who is anything less than responsible and respectful with their weapons.
Legal gun ownership is a good thing.
The problem with firearms is when niggers and felons get ahold of them. -

Speaking of God/s, is there anything an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God couldn't/can't do? Could such a God destroy Him/Her/Itself and the eternal structure of everything that we currently are able to know and understand as existence, time, and space? Could God, essentially, END ETERNITY?
Or, on a lighter thought, could God beat Him/Her/Itself up, or have a fair fight with a conclusive winner for that matter?
