2018-12-10 at 4:01 AM UTC in 500 calorie dietI go to a gym sometimes with my friend who has a membership. I checked my BMI on the machine there. I really want one but a decent one is like 50 bucks.

2018-12-10 at 3:48 AM UTC in So with all this opiod crisis bullshit...
Originally posted by Solstice You really are fucking retarded. Not that I'm surprised you'd say something like this.
The below post is based on CDC statistics. NCHS is where I got the other numbers. Feel free to double check with the CDC's database: https://wonder.cdc.gov/
We have roughly 5x more overdoses than 15 years ago.
In 2015 there were 35,000 deaths from car crashes, and 33,000 deaths from gun accidents
28,000 deaths from opioid overdose that same year, out of 52,000 total drug overdoses.
In 2016 that number went up to 42,000 overdoses from opioids, surpassing car crash deaths (37,000)
2017- 40,000 car crash deaths. 47,000 opioid overdoses. Overall was like 72,000 so you can see that overdoses from OTHER drugs isn't changing much. It's the fucking fentanyl. It's killing more than homicides, suicides, and car crashes. It would've been in the top 10 causes of death for 2017 if the CDC had decided to include it, but they don't put drugs in there, just regular ol diseases. Would be at the number 10 spot, in front of suicides (40,000) but below kidney disease (48,000)
Is that not fucking insane? I mean the top 3 causes of death make up 50% of all total overdoses apparently, but this is still a whole fuck of a lot. In 2002 there was 12,000 opioid overdose deaths.
Earlier this year I spent a little while in this opiate addict chatroom. Wasn't using opiates but the people in there were cool. They were always talking about how they missed so and so. I witnessed two people die during my time I was there, including one girl I was talking to daily for like three weeks. We actually had a bit of a spark and then she just died. I never got mega close or anything but holy shit did that hit hard. She was there one day and then just... gone. If you go anywhere on the opioid using internet you will find similar stories of how people are dropping like flies. We've even had several of our own members here die of opioid use. Mark is the most recent that comes to mind.
But yeah, "propaganda." -

2018-12-10 at 2:59 AM UTC in Do you think you'd be brave enough to be in a gunfight?
Originally posted by Ajax A friend of mine was in a “gunfight” recently. He works for law enforcement and he had a guy start shooting at him during a routine traffic stop. Leaving out details because of PI rats. I saw the footage from three different camera angles. It was definitely spooky to see since I know him. He did good though. My friend won.
Man, being a cop is just the worst fucking profession. I get why they're so militarized here.
I know someone who works in a pretty shitty part of the city and some of his stories are just totally depraved. Evidently he arrests a lot of women who try to fuck their way out of it, then get angry when he turns them down. Dude is gay lol. -

It fucks with your gut bacteria to produce insulin. This is the only human article I could find (hence it being inconclusive) but there are tons done on rats. It's an issue with calorie empty sweeteners in general.

Sucralose (Splenda) is even worse.

2018-12-10 at 1:18 AM UTC in 500 calorie dietJust start now. That fat is gonna help build muscle. I doubt you have as much fat as you're portraying here, and it'll go away naturally as you exercise anyway. Especially if you keep a deficit. This idea that you need to attain a certain level before you can build muscle (if thats your end goal) is silly imo.
Have you checked your BMI? -

Originally posted by DietPiano I haven't looked on a scale in months, however the days of me eating whatever I want and not gaining weight are over. On drugs I didn't really gain or lose too bad.
I'm 5'10, roughly 145 +/-5. I gained at least 2-3 lbs Thanksgiving though, so I especially wanna grind those off. I've also gained some weight at inpatient because the food at club med is pretty good, and we ate ALL THE TIME. We were encouraged to eat as much as we wanted because they want most of us to gain some weight after drinking/tekking/junking.
You sound anorexic. 145 is a decent weight, you shouldn't be trying to lose more. I'm 5'11 and ~165lbs. I've probably got more muscle than you though. BMI was 19.4 when I checked a few weeks ago and I've lost a little weight since then.
What's your goal here? Because you're like 15lbs from being considered underweight. -

Originally posted by CASPER I've never actually shot back at anyone, but I've been in that position a couple of times. And every time I see a shooting on the news, a get a little splash of that feeling, because there's nothing more helpless feeling that someone actively trying to hurt you, and not having the means to fight back.
I think bravery has very little to do with it. Gunfights are generally over in seconds, and completed from very close range. If something happens, it happens before you have much chance to choose to be scared or not. That said, I think I'd be sort of okay, but my tall ass would be hugging car cover and finding a nice big engine block to get behind. Idk how effective I'd be since with my thyroid/adrenal thing, when I get scared/angry my hands start shaking like crazy. But I have north Hollywood bank robbery dreams, so there must be some fucked up mental component at play.
For a while I had this mild PTSD where any time I saw a revolver or heard a gunshot on TV, I'd get this inexplicable anxiety and unease. Being helpless like that is one of the most fucked up feelings in the world, and until you experience it you have no idea how it will effect you. -

Originally posted by vindicktive vinny only a rampant beta would think and imagine themselves getting hitchhiked into a gun fight unwittingly as a victim at the mere mention of 'be in a gun fight'.
alfas, on the other hand, at the mere mention of gunfight would naturally think of being an active participant and contributing contributor to and in it.
I never said that was a gunfight. There would've had to be shooting, and another gun.
I also want to bring attention to the way Actor worded it. He said "be in a gunfight" not "in a gun fight". If you're in a gunfight then it sounds more like you're involved in the fighting. The 'be' adds a location aspect to it. It is less localized than 'in'. -
