That seems pretty narrow. People would get married just to vote and divorce would complic8 things. Married couples with children would likely vote for reactionary policies and lumping everyone into one homogeneous voting block has alot of potential to go awry.

It depends on provinces and band councils but the rule of thumb is you can usually get an exemption from a firearm ban if you're native, but only for rifles and shotties -
