Capitol-riot defendant calls for Trump to be 'ostracized from any political future' and says January 6 was a 'disgrace'
    insider@insider.com (John Haltiwanger)

A Capitol-riot defendant has apparently had a change of heart and now says he loathes Trump.

Thomas Sibick in a letter to a judge said Trump "should be ostracized from any political future."

Sibick added that the riot was a disgrace "that left a scar Trump is ultimately responsible for."

A Capitol-riot suspect from Buffalo, New York, who's been indicted on a number of charges related to the January 6 attack wrote a letter to a judge criticizing former President Donald Trump.

Thomas Sibick is accused of assaulting Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone. In his letter to Judge Amy Berman Jackson, Sibick wrote that Trump "is not a leader and should be ostracized from any political future, what he honestly needs to do is go away!"

The deadly January 6 insurrection was a "disgrace to our nation that left a scar Trump is ultimately responsible for," Sibick wrote.

"The shame, dishonor, and regret endured are without question the worst emotions ever experienced," he added. "I disagree with what occurred that fateful day, especially the trauma suffered by Officer Michael Fanone, it is without question unconscionable."

Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider.

Jackson on Tuesday decided to release Sibick from pretrial jail in Washington, DC, but said he was to be confined to his parents' home at all times. Sibick is also barred from using social media or watching any political programs on television, Ryan J. Reilly, a HuffPost senior justice reporter, reported.

The judge expressed concern about January 6 defendants being jailed together, worrying about the "toxic environment" it creates.

Experts have also said that housing the defendants together could further radicalize them.

"I do think the fact that the J6 defendants who are currently being held pre-trial... having them all together where they can seemingly communicate by newsletter, is likely to foster continued feelings of anti-government mentality among those individuals who are being prosecuted," Jon Lewis, a research fellow at the George Washington University's Program on Extremism, said in comments to Vice News.

Florida federal judge says Trump's former status as a US President doesn't exempt him from Twitter's terms of service
    mloh@businessinsider.com (Matthew Loh)

Former President Donald Trump is suing Twitter for suspending his account.

Twitter's terms of service still apply to former President Donald Trump, says a Florida federal judge.

Trump is suing Twitter and its CEO for suspending his account after the January 6 Capitol attack.

A clause in Twitter's agreement requires the lawsuit be moved to California, but Trump's lawyers argued that he's exempt because of his presidency.

On Tuesday, a Florida federal judge ruled that former President Donald Trump's status as a US president doesn't exclude him from Twitter's terms of service, according to court documents seen by Insider.

In July, Trump filed a lawsuit in Florida against Twitter and its CEO for suspending his account permanently on January 7, a day after the Capitol siege. The suspension was made on the grounds of Trump inciting violence through the platform, said Twitter at the time.

The former president cited censorship concerns in his lawsuit, saying that social media giants like Facebook, Twitter, and Google were "silencing" conservative voices and were being coerced by Democratic lawmakers.

On Tuesday, Florida District Judge Robert N. Scola Jr granted Twitter's motion to transfer the case to the Northern District of California, as required by a clause in the social media company's user agreement signed by all Twitter users.

Trump's lawyers argued that he was exempt from the clause because he was sitting president at the time of his account's suspension, and that it was in the public's interest to keep the case in Florida.

They failed to convince Judge Scola. "The Court finds that Trump's status as President of the United States does not exclude him from the requirements of the forum selection clause in Twitter's Terms of Service," he said.

Trump resides in Palm Beach, Florida, with his wife Melania and son Barron, at the Mar-a-Lago resort.

Apart from suing Twitter, he has also launched legal action against Facebook, Google, and their CEOs for banning him on their social media platforms.

Earlier this month, Trump filed a request for preliminary injunction to have his Twitter account reinstated, pointing out that the Taliban is allowed to tweet their military victories in Afghanistan while he is censored.

He announced last week that he would launch his own social media network, Truth Social, to "stand up to the tyranny of big tech." A report later said that Truth Social had violated a license agreement and ripped off code, and that the platform had 30 days to resolve the violation before it would be sued.

Rocky Mountain Oysters Recipe – Bull Testicles Are AWESOME!
    Craig Mullins

I never thought I’d say this, but not only have I eaten Rocky Mountain Oysters on more than one occasion, I have enjoyed them each time. And now, thanks to the Alameda County Fair this year, I have officially eaten Rocky Mountain Oysters three times. I think that takes me past the “I’m just going to try them” stage, and into the “hey, I like these” stage; what do you think?

For those who don’t know, Rocky Mountain Oysters are bull testicles used for food. They are considered a delicacy and are most often served as an appetizer, with a side of cocktail sauce dip.

Bull testicles can be a little tricky to find, but once you do, preparing your own delicious Rocky Mountain Oysters is easy – just follow the directions below!

Before you begin, make sure the bull testicles are cut into bite size pieces with the tough outer skin already removed.

Cook the pieces in a pot of boiling water for about 3 minutes, being careful not to over cook them. Even a minute too long will cause the bull testicles to become as tough as leather.

Immediately transfer the pieces of boiled testicle to a pot of ice water to halt their cooking.

Place two bowls in front of you, one filled with whole milk, the other filled with a mixture of flour, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, and ¼ teaspoon chili powder. Dip each piece into the milk, then into the flour mixture, and back into the milk. Finally, cover each piece in bread crumbs.

    Now it’s time for frying!

Heat a pot of cooking oil to 375 Degrees, and then very carefully submerge each breaded bull testicle piece. Fry each piece for 3 to 5 minutes; just long enough to brown the flour. Remember, leaving them in too long will result in testicles that are very tough and hard to chew. I like to sample at 3 minutes and see how they are doing.

You know your Rocky Mountain Oysters are done when each bite-sized piece is a beautiful golden brown.

    BON APPETIT!
