It all makes perfect sense if you're trying to depopulate and make money while doing it.
the idea was that the coronavirus itself mutates so quickly that a regular vaccine might be ineffective in weeks-months, so the scary science thing vaccine causes your body to create just the spike proteins themselves, which allows your immune system to train against and attack them. the spike proteins don't typically mutate so quickly, and if they're destroyed the virus is unable to enter cells and much less harmful.
what they didn't realise was that the spike proteins themselves are highly dangerous when not attached to a bigger organism, that your immune system doesn't always just destroy them but 'breaks them off' from the virus, and that rather that simply being flushed out of the system they collect in various organs, most notably the spleen and ovaries.

The AVANGARD gliders have a range of 6000km or so, so the SARMAT itself doesn't need to get anywhere near static missile defences so long as it can find a clear path to its target.
The SARMAT is a huge ballistic missile, and even though it has its own countermeasures it'll be a lot easier to shoot down than the gliders it carries. I don't think it's possible for ABM defences like THAAD to shoot it down because they can only engage ballistic missiles in the terminal phase, and the SARMAT isn't meant to strike targets directly. You'd have to use something like regular PATRIOT or AEGIS systems or an aircraft intercept along its flight path.
There's no current defence against gliders flying at mach 25 so it'd have to be stopped before it gets within range to release them, and they'd only be used in a nuclear exchange so you can bet there will be more than one coming from multiple directions. Saudi Arabia for example has failed miserably to crush Yemen, despite having every advantage - one major reason for it is that their officers are largely inept due to nepotism and not taking their roles seriously. they're treated like government jobs are in the west. they also rely heavily on foreign (usually cheap African) mercenaries because it's cheaper than training their own frontline troops, and as a result end up using them as a blunt instrument with no regard to casualties.
another good example was Syria last time they were fighting israel - they had the latest Soviet anti-aircraft platforms (which had been battle-proven in Vietnam) but still got crushed by the J'ewForce. the reason the AA complexes were so ineffective was because the Syrian Army was extremely lazy and didn't follow instructions at all.
- they didn't move mobile complexes so that israel was able to map them and strike them with standoff missiles even weeks later.
- they didn't co-ordinate SAMs and AA guns (you're supposed to use SAM radar locks to force enemy aircraft to fly low into the guns' field of fire)
