Sure, there are arguments that happen. Sure, she says or does things that get on my nerves, but that is to be expected in any relationship. Before she was my wife, my fiancée, or even my girlfriend, she was my best friend. I married my best friend and I honestly can't imagine life without her as "gay" as that sounds. When you find someone like that, it's not a chore to be married. We do absolutely everything together. I wouldn't have it any other way. -

Only in recent times has it even begun to taste upon that with distros like Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, etc. (all based on Debian, mind you). Earlier than this, it was live distros like Knoppix which was meant to be "run it and go", or at least, the early attempts at it.
Want to branch out? I know you said you didn't want Slackware, but I still recommend it. It's not at all suited to the every day home user. It's stability minded for linux nerds. You should still know it.
If you want a more user friendly distro, try ElementaryOS. It's heavily themed for "appearance" and many will find similarities to Mac OS.
Like it or love it, the popular distos of today are Debian, Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, and Arch. All other distros are some flavor of the previous, Debian being the grandaddy of them all.
So if you want a 2018 distro and aren't satisfied with Ubuntu, I would suggest you try Mint as it will be the most familiar to you (in terms of repos) yet different. Or, if you are further along with linux use, build your own OS under Arch Linux with your own desktop environment.
With Linux, there is so many possibilities. If you've been used to Debian-based distros, I would suggest Mint and if that isn't your thing, then branch totally off and build your own with Arch. And if you're rather have something prepackaged that isn't Debian based, go with Slackware. -

I'v thought about my future. I'v heard of people digging holes in parks (like a state or federal park. I know it's probably frowned upon, but got damn it, I too am an American. and I'm not building atop the soil but instead creating a subterainian structure and then build a roof and throw soil content back down. I will do it without disturbing the plants or natural spring flows. I will monitor where I dig down into. and I will build a temporary shed structure like a tough shed. I will build it near a river so I can collect water just like a Camper.
and I will use solar power to charge my portable computer and video projector (pocket size?) to watch tv or such.
and something like a MiFi mobile device hopefully with a cell tower near by.
I won't just eat can foods. I will look for low sodium things and try and see if I can grow certain foods under sunlamps of some type? not ones that get hot. but like whatever UV light source.. I'm sure they sell them. Like growing tomatoes and squash or peppers for fresh foods.. maybe a baby orange tree to get fresh fruit year round. maybe strawberries too? a hydroponic like system? portable. I will close myself off for months. perhaps through winter months when it's snowing.
I'm not sure when I will chose to venture off in doing this. but it would be an experience. maybe run a live feed on tinychat and post on this nigga site.

It has very limited data. It will report date and time and the permission it ran under. It will not report what the program did (like connecting out to a remote IP for example) or any files written to disk. If it did this, I would be a happy boy.
