2019-06-15 at 3:27 AM UTC in Are you for or against prohibition(drugs)?its the current irresponsible supply line thats the cause of overdose. people don't overdose just coz they got greedy or forgot when they last had a hit ffs. one thing smackheads are very much aware of is dosages and when they last used and when they'll next use. but the illegal supply doesn't give vital information like the purity of any particular serving. and it can vary wildly, making it impossible to know if this hit is the same strength as the last one, or half as much, twice as much, sometimes it can be ten or even twenty times as much and then overdose. couple that with the fact that because of the fear of prohibition causes people to hide away to fix up where there is nobody around to help if they do go over. and you've just created the factors necessary for a very deadly situation.
even decriminalization won't change that much tho as it usually only applies to possession, the dealers would stay the same. if you sourced heroin from a pharmacy like any other drug then it would be supplied very responsibly and the purity would be listed on the box. it could even be rationed, so it would be harder to obtain a lethal dose in one go.

yeah i know, but sean twist does use drugs an all. he's one of those drug snobs tho, like its ok as long as its his drug of choice. but nobody else can use theirs.

you know most people with kids think prohibition is a good thing because it will help keep their child safe from using these 'dangerous' drugs. they've been told their whole life that 'drugs are bad, mkay' and so they keep repeating that same mantra because 'it must be true coz everyone says so'. and everyone else keeps repeating it the same because everybody else is saying so.
none of these parents ever consider the fact that drugs exist and always will do, prohibition or not. and what's more if their child was to try drugs(which many do), because of prohibition, they will hide away from the very beginning, probably round some other kids house who you never even knew he was friends with. he will take every measure he can to hide it from you, teachers, the law and anybody who isn't within his immediate drug taking group. because prohibition has taught him long ago that drugs is something you must hide no matter what. obviously coz nobody wants the kind of trouble that comes with drugs from prohibition.
and so because directly of prohibition, by the time you find out that your child has started using drugs, it will be way down the line where they've got the behavior so ingrained that its way too late to just stop them using now. if it wasn't for prohibition then your child probably wouldn't have gone to half the trouble they did to hide it from the very people who care enough to help him at the very beginning when there is still very much a good chance that you could encourage them to put a stop to the behavior. because if at anytime in the drug using timeline they could have prevented going into full on drug fueled self destruction(if that was where they were heading) it would have to have been at the very early stage. but prohibition makes that nearly impossible in every single case.
great job protecting kids there prohibition, great job.

and i'm pretty sure before ww1 the reason women weren't allowed in politics was not because of misogyny either. it was for the exact same reason, they think emotionally where as men think more logically. its not a bad thing its just how they are and their opinions and thoughts do have a lot of value, just not in politics.

i had a danish boss at a commercial bakery when i was 17. went in one night a few hours after having dropped what i thought at the time was a moody acid tab, turned out it wasn't. i mixed up 3 loads of dough in a row and forgot to put the yeast in every time. the boss ended up telling me he would punch my face in if i didn't stop laughing.
