I think one has to suck a lot of dick to WANT to be a mod. I respect it when someone mods a forum purely because they feel passionately about actually directing discussion. You know who my favourite fucking mod on Zoklet was? SHARP. That fucker was the best god damn mod, he knew his science/nature shit and I didn't hear a god damn arrogant power tripping peep outta his account. He didn't give a fuck about politics. He just wanted to cultivate the shit out of his forums. On the other hand we had little niglets like Unstable Matter, Mark, and so on modding who could give a fuck about actually creating a quality sub-community or directing discussion, so much as be edgelords without being able to be banned, basically (although I stripped his little bit of power out of Unstable's hands hahahahaha).
I generally think you must be dim to want to basically be community janitor for a site unless you are very passionate about the subject. The question is, what exactly do you want to accomplish? If you're fine with an older phone that does all basic functions competently then as I said before, I'm still using my OnePlus One from 2014, and they are actually super cheap used now (~$150), slap a custom ROM on it and it runs good as new.
The OnePlus 3 and ZTE Axon 7 are both great "budget flagship" phones though if you are willing to drop 400+. The Axon 7 has those great forward facing speakers as its main edge (no cupping your hands around the phone to get balanced sound), but the OP3T is an all around great phone and I would pick it all around because of my so far great experience with the One. But those front facing speakers are so fucking underrated though. I miss them from my HTC One M7 :C
