Yeah, antibiotics are overused but this is what they're fucking for man. For big wounds like this that are infected. You can't really have a wound like that and have bacteria NOT set in, it's just a matter of how severe it is and how good your body is at fighting it. But even healthy people will go septic.
I still have a chunk of my calf missing from where a mosquito bit me. Probably hundreds if not thousands of bites in my life and this one for some reason got really fucked. The muscle is just flat in that spot. Took a while for the hair to start growing back too.
Ever since then I don't fuck around with infections. This is how antibiotics save lives. People used to die from this shit all the time. The problem is people taking it for a little cough or something. A lot of countries sell it OTC too. Don't think you're overusing it mang, because that wound looks pretty bad.
