It's actually essential. Since saying 'bean' instead of 'being' was a conscious choice on my part. Calling someone a real bean(Or yourself), when speaking of human traits and the human condition, seems contradictory and it's just off in general. So i like saying that for reasons i haven't thought about very much. -

Language is pretty amazing in the sense it connects people to each other and to a geographical area, a culture and a shared history, language can also divide, set apart, and inflict. It's no wonder many cultures believe spoken words have magical properties, like curses, and spells and stuff.
But the language situation in Ireland does seem like it can be an impediment. Pretty sure that's a clue to the historical culture of the place.
Anyway, if you could speak your particular flavor of Irish again would you want to be able to? -

I don't know this at all so don't come for me Phd level Irish speakers. But i think the 'bhfu' part is trying to a convey a "whe" sound. As in wheel. The B isn't a hard consonant. So it's barely pronounced. IDK, words are old and they can change over time, and roman letter aren't native to Ireland. But there has been an attempt somewhere down the line to convey the "whe" or "wi" sound without using a W. -
