He was also the sole carrier of army-issued Pervitin, or methamphetamine, a stimulant used to remain awake while on duty.[3] He took them all and had a short burst of energy, but then entered into a state of delirium, and lost consciousness. Koivunen remembered waking up the following morning, separated from his patrol and having no supplies.[4] In the following days, he escaped Soviet forces once again, was injured by a land mine which also set fire to a nearby Russian camp, and laid in a ditch for a week waiting for help.[4] Having skied more than 400 km (248.5 mi) he was found and admitted to a nearby hospital, where his heart rate was measured at 200 beats per minute, triple the average human heartbeat,[5] and weighing only 43 kg (94.8 lbs).[4]

The 96 movie didn't have much of a storyline so I don't know what they'll do with this, hopefully explain why she wanted to become the character so bad. It looks shit though.

Lmao, i don't think that's strictly grammatically correct. It's supposed to change how the letter/vowel is pronounced right? I guess you could convey a heavy Irish accent in writing by using fadas everywhere.

Kind of like how Soarsie needs a fada to be pronounced "searsha". I didn't have Irish at school, but it's got some quirky and unique features that i like.

I don't know this at all so don't come for me Phd level Irish speakers. But i think the 'bhfu' part is trying to a convey a "whe" sound. As in wheel. The B isn't a hard consonant. So it's barely pronounced. IDK, words are old and they can change over time, and roman letter aren't native to Ireland. But there has been an attempt somewhere down the line to convey the "whe" or "wi" sound without using a W.

I was taught Donegal Irish which is different to what they're taught in the south of Ireland but even that's different to what natives speak so parents can't understand their children. I had no one to speak with it in so mostly forgot it.

turns out you can actually mummify yourself by only eating specific tree barks and pine needles in order to rapidly dehydrate the flesh and poison your internal bacteria

Language is pretty amazing in the sense it connects people to each other and to a geographical area, a culture and a shared history, language can also divide, set apart, and inflict. It's no wonder many cultures believe spoken words have magical properties, like curses, and spells and stuff.

But the language situation in Ireland does seem like it can be an impediment. Pretty sure that's a clue to the historical culture of the place.

Anyway, if you could speak your particular flavor of Irish again would you want to be able to?
