I only really hear about folks contracting if their spouse has a healthcare plan to cover the family. From what I understand, Healthcare can eat away a good chunk of that extra income.
Look maaannnnnn... I know talking and stuff is like lower bandwidth and like, i get it duuuuuuude. You're CEREBRAL. But we're not selling a product my dude, we're selling an EXPERIENCE maaaannnn. So can you like. Do it with machine learning? And the cloud? i know you tech dudes are all about that stuff, and we want our experience to be the best and quick to market maaaannnn, like you we're agile, we're an agile company. Gotta go, bro, board meeting you know how it goes. -
2021-07-28 at 4:23 PM UTC in I know for a fact people from Activision Blizzard browse this website. So blizzard is getting sued, cuz muh patriarchy. And in the court documents they're talking about some kind of manager that allegedly wanted to be inappropriate with all the female employees. His suit had a nickname or so the court documents say, people called it the Crosby Suit. Not Cosby. Crosby.
This is irrefutable evidence.
Hello Activision Blizzard people. Can you stop getting drunk on the job and going on 'cubicle crawls' and get back to actually making good vidya again that'd be great. I don't care about the rape allegations and frivolous lawsuits, but the Buttplug Suicide episode was a little disturbing not gonna lie. -

Good lad. I really dislike the upper middle class view of 'the working class'. I don't even like the terminology, blue collar people are salt of the Earth types. It's great if you can sit behind a desk and make money, but being on site and actually working with your hands is very satisfying. It's kind of the reason i have the amount of tools i have, i very much enjoy helping with renovations and stuff. And i definitely have respect for skilled craftspeople.
Sounds like you have marketable skills my dude. -

Oh i just remembered. Have you seen Non Non Biyori? it's an SoL cute girls doing cute things kind of anime, they recently released a third season called Non Non Biyori Nonstop.
There's a little girl in the anime and her name is Renge. Renge-chan. And she has violet colored hair, and Renge, is a given name for a little purple flower in Japanese as well. I thought that's pretty cool. -
2021-07-28 at 11:29 AM UTC in Why would I need a drill? For electrical...
If you wanna build houses, a drill might be nice to have but not essential if you're builidng with wood mainly. IDK how are your wood working skills? -

Originally posted by Cly I have some tools, I just don't know what to work on, I have goals, I just don't know why I need a drill. I'm going to donate blood today, that's one goal. Ectera
Depends on what you're working on. If you wanna make money being a handyman, be prepared to drill all kinds of holes unfortunately i don't really know electrician lingo in English, but trust me when i say you gonna wanna need a drill if you wanna do anything electrical. But then again if you're in the US all your houses are made of wood so most of the time a hammer and nails or a screwdriver will suffice. But concrete and brick especially is a fuck to work with if you don't have a proper drill and the appropriate drill bits. -

yee you got these volt pen thingies that you can hold up to the wall they give off a light and a beep if they measure the magnetic field produced by live wires
Also, i don't wanna bust your balls but y u no have drill? I got all kinds of tools. I got a small little drill with 250 detachable extensions, for drilling, cutting polishing. I got a couple electric screw drivers, i got a wireless drill. I have a literal toolbox you can haul around, with saws and screw drivers and cutters and everything. I got equipment for soldering copper piping for water mains, i got hammers. I am at all times ready to build a house.
Now i have a technical background, and i mean before the programming and cyber stuff, and i can wire your house up to code like it's nobodies business, or design more complex electrical systems. but every man should at least have a small toolkit. Don't you have stuff to do around the house?
Do you never renovate? Friends and family call me all the time to help with renovations or electrical. it's not like you can throw money at the problem either, considering you're unemployed. It just feels like an essential life skill to be able to do at least odd jobs handyman kinda work around the house. Come on bro.. -

It's a real problem though, if you do have a static address and your ISP sees your(their) IP on one of the major blacklist maintainers they are liable to put a hard block on your internet access. hard block means they don't just stop providing DNS service, which is easy to circumvent and easy for them to take off. A hard block stops your internet access entirely, pending an investigations which can take up to a couple of months if you're unlucky.
It is unclear to me what they do exactly(ISP Blue team), but this happened to a buddy of mine, he plays a lot of online FPS, and he sucks bigly at netsec, or any kind of sec really, they sniffed his IP, spoofed in Masscan or Zmap and got him on a major blacklist provider.
He was like Soph halp. So i was like alright. And i spent an hour on the phone with his provider, finally got someone with actual networking knowledge on the line. Explained the situation, thank Christ he knew what i was talking about, before that i head first line idiots and they said: Yes our security center did this. So when i asked to be connected to the folks at security they flat out refused. When i got the guy on the line that knew his shit i asked him why the hell his colleagues didn't want to connect me to security. Turns out it's not actually their security it's a third party they contract with, and contracts prevent customers from getting in contact with security directly. Instead first line has three layers of bureaucracy to go through before they're even allowed to send a ticket.
Fortunately the guy i had on the line checked all the blacklist maintainers, saw what the problem was made a special prio ticket to security and CC'd us in the email so we finally got in contact with the fucking ISP blue team firm, and they were like, oh, our bad. And boom everything restored.
Jesus H Christ.
