Here's the method to find 15% of a number:
1) Find 10% of that number (you better know how to do this).
2) Take half of that number.
3) Add it to itself.
So for 80:
1) 10% of 80 is 8.
2) Half of 8 is 4.
3) 8+4=12. -

Who is this "Self Taught Man" character I'm seeing all over the place?
While we do have our share of schizophrenic nutcases bouncing around, this dude isn't one of them. This is a place where people are free to express highly controversial opinions, the societies many of us live in elect to punish people who voice some of these opinions either de jure or de facto. While every poster is encouraged to take their anonymity seriously and is personally responsible for maintaining it, in the case that ones identity is tied to their account here they may choose to "anonymize" their account. When they do this all their accounts are assigned to the "Self Taught Man" account and their normal account is banned as a mesure to protect their privacy.
How do I get in on this anonymization thing?
There is an "auto-anonymize" link every user can see on their own profile page. Clicking it will give you more details about the process, but it's worth emphesiszing that this measure does not protect you in the case that law enforcement subpoenas records. Posts anonymized in this way can be tied back to their original posters in a forensic context.

The main thing I use the external drive for is memories and shit that takes up a lot of space like pictures and videos (not porn). -

I have had a few cheap laptops crash on me in one way or another with the good hard drives. Sometimes I don't care what's on it; other times I need the stuff. So what do we do? Other than turning it into a slave drive in a tower PC, an external enclosure is a good solution.

I'm sure there are better or faster ones out there, but it's proven itself useful several times. Plug a hard drive into the thing, plug the USB cable into another PC, and you now have a new external hard drive. I have a few drives that I store out in the open, which probably isn't the best idea, that I swap back and forth within this enclosure. Outside of being able to get the data that I needed, it's served pretty well as having an external drive for backup and archival purposes.
What do you guys use for external drives? What about enclosures for old internal drives? Should I be worried about storing my old drives out in the open when not in use? I heard that the main thing is not to bump it while it is being used because bumping anything when it's spinning at 7200 rpm isn't a good idea if you care about the integrity of it. What else? -
