I agree with every thing you said here.
However,
I believe society/civilization should be something better than that.
There are things we have done right by overcoming our instincts, and things we have done wrong by overcoming them.
Plumbing = good
electricity = good
roads = good
organized entities having state/media influence in the name of gain/profit = bad
identity politics as a result of the above = bad
mass violence on innocent people as a result of the above = bad
The simple fact is that most of us would not even exist without the amenities afforded to us by civilization. Your great-great-great-great grandmother would've died of typhoid because she could only get river water. Your great-great-great-great grandfather would've died in some stupid tribal warfare over community access to some fruit grove. People died of much dumber shit back then than they did today, not that people don't die of dumb shit today, but overall, its getting better. We're just too educated about it to really put it into the proper historical perspective. There are no cavemen alive today to tell us how many people died of disease and violence back then.
It's nice to imagine us settling back into some kind of agrarian society but I just don't see that as being possible with the way humans are. We are ever fighting the balance between instinct and social adherence. It's totally unavoidable.
The only solution is to build forward and create a society which is adaptive to our natural instinct, while also gaining the best benefits that society--and the human mind--have to offer. -

That's fine. Its an issue of semantics. When I say mother, I mean biological mother. When others say mother, they mean something different. Its not really a problem like you're making it out to be. I accept that other people have different ideas in their heads.
comparing moms to cars is just sad...
you ever been inside your mom?
you ever ridden her at 65mph?
no?

yes they do…they instinctively seek out prey, avoid predators and look for another animal to reproduce with.
Learn to think for yourself rather than relying on others definitions and opinions kid.

Do you have 2 lesbian moms Steven?…why not??
I consider those to be more like role models than a true mom or mother, but I was speaking biologically. Calling, say, a high-quality step-mom (or other non-biological mother figure) your 'mom' is just a sign of respect and reverence.
Some people have multiple 'moms' but they don't call them 'mom'.
Its important to have both female and male role models in your life so that you are exposed to the full spectrum of masculine and feminine traits. -

The 'its a natural change in earth' theory has been debunked.
I could show you charts but its better for you to explore and learn and read on your own man
you seem trolly but intelligent so I believe in your ability to think critically

What do you mean 'allegedly'
WTF do you think an extinction event is?
We have been in an extinction event since the dawn of humanity. It has only been exacerbated by the combustion engine and rapid population expansion over the last ~100yrs.
There's nothing alleged about it. We are a 'global super predator' species. Humans migrate to an area, and they fuck it up. And now we have the entire globe and are fucking it up even harder.
Its interesting how you had nothing to say about the timescale of Earth's natural climate change events.
Can you pinpoint the non-human anomaly for me? -

Impossible to move past it entirely?
Sure.
Impossible to use cognitive reasoning to decipher societal expectations and other beneficial behaviors that will objectively improve your quality of life?
Nah.
Even animals do not rely solely on instinct. This is something every intelligent creature does, because problem solving is a highly advantageous trait. It requires thinking.
Look up the definition of instinct before you respond, because I have a feeling I know what you will say. It'll save us time if you google it. -

That is a BANK OF AMERICA CRACK PIPE and it is considered a sign of wealth in many countries. -

You're right, but it has never changed this quickly except in extinction events.
If humans aren't causing the anomaly, what is? There hasn't been any major event to explain it. There's no other reason that scientists can find that would explain the rapid changes we are seeing.
It has been written in scientific literature since the invention of the combustion engine.
Look at how much the ozone has healed itself in the last ~20yrs due to societal changes humans have made. The planet would be a lot worse off had we kept using chlorofluorocarbons. Its actually set to go back to normal within our lifetimes. It's a very crazy change to see in ~35yrs. The planet would be a lot worse off otherwise. We'd see a spreading of 'northern lights'. But we don't. Because humanity acted.
We can act again. -

i want to grow tomatos on the front steps, sunflowers, bean sprouts, sweet corn and radishes
second of all
What problems does this cause?
I think the problems stem from people's interpretation of civilization and instinct.
What is your interpretation?
