    Obviously that's a short term trend, caused by skittish investors.
    
    If you want to preserve wealth, then holding metals is pretty much the safest way to do it. In the long term metals will continue increasing in price as paper money loses its value. I'd be very surprised if things like silver, copper, etc don't double over the next 5 years. I don't see a scenario where they decline over the next 5 years.
