I had to appreciate it in order to tolerate it. What else do you expect from this place? No matter the enormity of your trouble, it will be ridiculed here. We all have crippling emotional problems, and a few of us are also literally crippled. None of us will ever function properly in society. Share your story if it's healing for you, just don't insist that everybody call it great literature. I like you OP, but this constitutes whining.

I've made great progress in cultivating a meditation routine and I usually fit in an hour of creative writing. It makes me protective of my bedtime.

There was not much leadership or anarchy, so I snagged the handle and started reposting local news articles on a daily basis. Traffic started picking because of my threads, and some weeks later, when the mods eventually bothered to sign on, they saw my work and assumed it had come from a professional employed by the city.
They extended me a moderator invitation, which I graciously accepted, without bothering to have so much as a conversation—let alone a proper interview. It was too easy. I proceeded to post stickied threads warning locals about law enforcement activity in the area, such as DUI checkpoints. After a couple of months of this, I was noticed, and my position was revoked.

I especially loved The History of Sexuality, where he deconstructs the narrative of Victorian prudence and develops his ideas of incitement and inscription further. When I had university access, I found some very early papers from when he was more interested in post-Heideggerian scholarship, which was interesting to look at in the context of where his career went after he drifted into psychoanalysis.
Was I born then, I might have asked Foucault to incite a discourse on my body. After seeing the doctor the next day, I'd lock him in a room with Jung and Hegel and starve them into producing something readable and voluminous.

I've done it on and off for the last decade or so. Early on I enjoyed some potent spiritual experiences that have stayed with me in memory, though those don't really occur lately. This past year I've had an unbroken streak, working my way up to an hour every morning now. This was, of course, prior to my recognizing our moral obligation. He was a swift one; brave, too. He couldn't have been over sixteen. The poor fellow ran ahead of his hunting party and got himself killed trying to show off. There was not much meat to speak of, but the marrow was sweet. Although, I'm not sure how a typical, Western caucasian might compare in taste, though I've never had better sex.

I’m fortunate that my family lives within an hour of one another, though I can’t imagine the stress of worrying about a vulnerable parent at a distance. You shouldn’t have to lock her down, but you did the right thing. She’s lucky to have you and your brother.

I don’t like admitting this aloud, but I’ve seen the stuff you write, just for play, and I think it’s clever. Clearly, you’re bright, and if you apply yourself, I think you can be successful. It really wouldn’t come as a surprise to see you working in a competitive field or owning a business within five years of graduation. It won’t be easy, but with a little work ethic coupled with your natural aptitude, graduate programs could also be on the horizon.
But you can’t, under any circumstances, let your father pay for any of this. Tell his bullshit attorney you don’t want to be conned into bondage. Do you know what kind of help the estranged family gives to their already-independent son, with a mind of his own? It’s a guaranteed trap, and he’ll own you forever if you allow him to grace you with his false charity. He’s shit on you before, dude, and now he’s trying to hoover you. You don’t need him, and I believe you’ve already proven that to yourself. If you’ve ever felt that your parents are overly critical of your choices, just wait until you tell them about your major. Trust me, they will assert a claim to it on the basis of their contribution. All parents who think they know better than their wayward children are the same: this is just your asshole father getting his foot in the door for the last time. You’ve got to slam it shut and change the locks before you move into the dormitory, where you’ll be free of anybody’s burdensome lectures or expectations of you.
Now, you’re going to want to take out loans: public and private. Do not let your parents cosign; they’ll manage to wrap a leash around your neck and yank until you die. Since you won’t have their help, PM me if you need guidance in understanding the very complicated application process. I can make it easy for you if you want help applying for additional loans that most students don’t know about. In an afternoon, I can get you refunds that exceed your paychecks for the semester.
