When we got there, the place was packed. We each had a couple of glasses of wine by the time her musician crush came on stage. Halfway through his set, he came down singing into the audience, shaking hands and giving high fives. She was mouthing the lyrics along with him to her favorite song, staring directly into his eyes as he made his way toward us. When he finally got over to us, she raised her hands for a handshake, but secretly she was hoping for a hug. He went right past her and placed his outstretched hand across my chest, touching both of my nipples at the same time. Nobody ever did that to me before. She was really angry. We broke up a few months later.

I think at some point we will have integrated the skeleton code for several future variants of the modern search engine into our limbic system that will use several inputs for search terms, including visual/auditory input and eventually communications drawn from thoughts passing through our respective speech-processing structures. -

I bought this in mid-2015. I wanted a Mac for the software, but it's held up very well for everything I do. Anytime it gets a little bit slow or starts to glitch, I just reinstall the OS and it's like new. The only downside is that, because of the overall size and the hard drive, it's pretty heavy. As a result, I don't take it away from home often. -

2018-03-03 at 8:27 PM UTC in We have a moral obligation to stop eating meatIn retrospect, I can see why calling it a goat was a mistake: it's in part because it is a cow, but mostly I regret saying "goat" because you cannot seem to get past the fact that I misidentified one mammal for another, very closely related one. Maybe if they hadn't hacked its legs off while it was still alive and rolled it onto the ground, I would've recognized by its height that it was a cow.

Why not? If you're obligated not to eat animals yourself, why aren't you obligated to stop others from doing it?
I was vegetarian for 14 years, so I know the mindset. Vegetarians think meat is yucky, they like signalling how spiritually evolved they are, they have weak personalities, and they know their opinions have zero basis in natural law.
Vegetarianism is an attempt to opt-out of life, which is why vegetarianism is common among new-agers, religious mystics and the like.
If you were a vegetarian for 14 years, you shouldn't need me to explain to you that some vegetarians are voluntarists and others are not, and if that's your impression of the decision not to eat meat, you were probably one of the shallower vegetarians. -
