    I'm kind of on the DontTellEm train here, I think some people just prefer to grieve on their own. I don't think there's anything wrong with someone for choosing to share their grief but I don't think it's a cathartic experience for everyone. Funerals are really rough for me, not because someone who I cared about died, that sucks with or without a funeral, but because you're obligated to "act sad" and I never really know how to do that. It just feels awkward and I never know what to say, I just want to melt into the wall or die myself so I don't have continue trying to figure out how you're supposed to act in a situation like that.

    It feels like public demonstrations of grief almost cheapen the sentiment. It's not about the loss, it's about a social ritual around the loss. I'd rather stick to the usual social script and go be a depressed sack of shit on my own time.

    Fiddler is a great tool if you're on windows. Like it's the singular place where Windows has better dev tooling than OSX, the UI is polished and it's specifically built around HTTP so I find it's a lot simpler to use than scratching my head at the wireshark enhancement docs. It can crack SSL by installing a cert which is pretty easy to set up too.

    Let's just pretend I go through the process of extracting examples of such beliefs from each of you before pointing this fact out. HTS doubles down on the troll and pretends like he never leaves his room because he can't find certain evidence that his door hasn't changed to lead to a deathtrap since the last time he walked through it, aldra says something about how you should be skeptical of the institution of science but ultimately agrees that scientific publication counts as positive evidence, and "vinny" goes on to post increasingly incoherent ramblings where he backs himself to a more and more absurd position involving various conspiracy theories and probably claiming DJT is the definitive source of truth on climate change at some point and the thread dies when that back and forth peters out.

    There, I just saved us all a lot of time. You're welcome faggots.

    astraweb was $5/mo when I was using it but up to $10 now, don't remember what retention was, probably not great given the price but I never had trouble finding things in any case. Oh, and it was rate limited, I think like 10 mbits/s or something. I guess that is kidna shitty these days but it didn't seem like a problem back when I was using crappier internet connections.

    Keep it on topic guys, this is a topical forum. I deleted posts which were not OK, don't keep posting that kind of shit.

    Re: bin groups, I maintained a subscription for about a year when I was in college. It was a good way to pirate stuff when the dorm network tried to block torrenting or would cave on BS DMCA notices but with private trackers being where they are today I don't see a lot of reason to continue to pay for it.

    Usenet is weird in general, it's a fairly centralized technology (I mean it's federated but the cost to enter the federation is prohibitively high) but still has a kind of wild west vibe to it.
