It’s an open secret that commercial reviewers rarely play past the first ~10 hours of a game before writing, and developers know this and focus their resources accordingly. Gantz manga is worth reading even if you watched the anime. Anime was middling to me, mostly because of the low production value. Manga's story had a lot more going on and the artwork was actually good, which matters for what is basically an alien snuff film with a narrative
