odd that as a male, every male you envision is bent over in concept.

i'd tell you then to get bent, but can clearly see you are one to accept that as an invitation...

I mainly specialized in tool and die. Got really good at it, too. I could fabricate all kinds of neat devices from scratch.

the DIE is a TOOL for production,

the term tool and die itself is used as general, but the real good class AAA Machinists classify themselves as Gage Maker, Tool Maker, Mold Maker, Die Maker...

and as you can see Maker just follows tool, die, gage, mold which are all specific references to roll forming dies, toolroom dies, plastic injection molds, casting molds, water mold, and GAGE means you are the top Shark making the Mathematical Bibles :)

Die casting is a true art form.

Never talk to them when their setting up.. The swear words coming out of their mouths when things don't go right and you ask "how much longer"

Spent about 5 years as a machinist, worked mostly on a Mori Seiki Millturn with FANUC controls but have experience with chucker lathes, machining centers, and the usual Bridgeport mills, surface grinders and engine lathes. What do you want to know?
