both are held to different standards and legal requirements
but for wikileaks the disntinction blurs. on one hand they're mere platform that hosts leaks since they arent the ones who stole or hack to get these information.
it blurs when they cowed to the morality of reducing potential pain and suffering to soldiers and potential war criminals by redacting here and there and thus making them a publisher.
what i argued is more on phillosophicaaal sense tho, that is that it is a platform first and foremost, and a "social" networks of leak peddelers. the same network of collaborators that processed the likes of panama and paradise papers. -

2019-04-11 at 4:05 PM UTCIt's like if you had a post that had hot links to classified material in it. Not actual classified content, just pointers - links which direct people to where the material actually is. Like Napster, or any one of a million sites which provide hot links to various content. It's like you pointing at a bank robbery in progress and getting arrested for bank robbery just for pointing it out. It's ludicrous. These are just a pack of lawless criminals who don't hesitate to flaunt the laws of the land for their own personal benefit. They should all be behind bars for treason and sedition.

No thats wrong. Not even sure what your point is exactly but you seem to be contradicting yourself there. But anyway, Sometimes we do things because we have to. even if we believe its something that should never have to be done or would ever want to do. There are many reasons why we'd do things that we really don't want to do.
Think of a Buddhist who believes life is sacred and we must not kill anything big or small. He takes every last scrap of food that he doesn't eat into town to feed the poor. While there he buys more food to feed the poor with, And what they don't eat he feeds the pidgeons in the park with. At the end of the day he walks home to rest so he can do it again the next day. But on his trip to town he walked on countless ants, spiders, roaches and other insects killing them instantly. The rats and mice around his house starve because there's no scraps for them to live on. So despite his ideal of him never killing any life form and even taking steps to aid life. He is still killing life. Its unavoidable, yet he still strives toward a world where no living creature is killed. Its just an ideal, not reality.
I mean right now I'm smoking a cigarette. Personally I like smoking cigarettes and smoke because I want to. But I know plenty of people who don't like smoking cigarettes but still smoke because they're unable to give up. So while they smoke cigarettes they don't want to and don't think they should, nor do they think any other people should smoke them. Yet they are still choosing to smoke a cigarette regularly. So they're not changing the world to what they think it ought to be by smoking a cigarette.

2019-04-11 at 4:17 PM UTCWe live on the stage of a constant battle between evil and good. Each one of us plays a part in this struggle. Everything else is just window dressing. Higher powers are at work here. This is not even really our battle. It's not our war. The only real war we wage is within ourselves.

Exactly. This whole assange episode is just a slight of hand illusionists trick to take everybody's eye off the ball of who the real wrongdoers are. Get everybody so hyped up on what a monster assange is so people don't notice the fact that the elite fucks took a shit load of people into wars that should never have happened, that the reasons they took us into those wars were bullshit.
They talk about wikileaks putting troops in danger by revealing their locations. But those troops should never have been there in the first place. Who put them there, thats the real elephant in the room.

What about search engines linking people to your site which then links to the classified material? What about Samsung or Sony or dell etc providing you with a device to look up these sites or the various outlets which sell you their products? What about the mining companies providing the tech companies with the various metals and minerals used to build these products? What about the surveyor who provided the mining company with the info on where to mine? Or the companies that sell tools which they use to mine?
Or what about the governors who gave them the rights to mine there, or the tech companies the licenses to build and sell electronics, or allow the search engines to operate in their country?

Under these lawless standards, everyone involved would have to go to jail. -

2019-04-11 at 5:25 PM UTCIt all boils down to the fact that I exist, you exist, everybody else exists, all 7 billion of us, and how we manage to get along together. Every single one of us has our own wants and needs and ideas of how things should be. Who's right, who's wrong and how do we all decide?
Those who seek to control others to their will, have to use fear in order to get everyone else to comply. Now your tyrannical dictator type will use direct fear of themselves, as in "I will kill/hurt you", but then offer to protect you from themselves, if you do what they say.
The rest make you fear something/someone else, then convince you that they can and will protect you from that/them, if you do what they say. The fears they use are nearly always exaggerated way out of proportion in order to keep the population thinking they need the protection of the ruling group.
People these days have lost sight of what a government is and why we need them. Mainly because they dress it all up in this idea of legitimacy and officialdom. When you have a mass of people they have to find a way to live together and to work together to get things done. Its too difficult for millions of people to keep coming together to discuss every single issue and work out the solutions. So you'd need a smaller group of people who could do this on behalf of everybody. They would then be charged with making those decisions and carrying them out for the benefit of everybody.
The problems arise when these people are trying to make decisions on behalf of people they don't know, and lack knowledge and experience of the problems those people face from their prospective. Pretty soon these decision makers are simply making decisions based on their own point of view on what matters to them.
Thats always been the way because there was no other way for a mass of people to work together. Until now. The internet and technology has given us a platform on which masses of people can discuss anything. We can use that same technology to all vote and decide on how we want to go forward with any issue. Why the human race still follows these power hungry control freaks into doing things in the way that mostly benefits them and is often detrimental to many others is beyond me but obviously thats why the leaders want to keep y'all living in fear so y'all keep feeling like you need them and are happy to keep following them in order to retain their protection. But its all an illusion.

is this why you hated nonce so much ? because of government enginnered fears ?Until now. The internet and technology has given us a platform on which masses of people can discuss anything. We can use that same technology to all vote and decide on how we want to go forward with any issue.

You don't "have" to do anything. Everything you do is to fulfill some sort of change. I do not have food, ideally I would have food, how do I make that happen? Without moving towards an ideal of better, you would not act at all. You may not realize that you are operating on ideals but that's every conscious decision you make. -

I've seen a fire start in Frisco
The day that the earth quaked
I've seen buildings a-blazing, throwing up flames
I heard men, women and children crying out to their God for mercy
But their God didn't listen
So they were burned alive
They went down, down
Deep underground
In the Great Disaster
I was hanging out in Berlin
In the year one thousand nine hundred and thirty nine
I've seen Hitler's storm troopers march right across the Maginot line
I've seen two world wars
I've seen men send rockets out into space
I foresee a holocaust: an angel of death descending to destroy the human race
Down, down
Deep underground
A great disaster
In the sixteenth century there was a French philosopher by the name of Nostradamus
Who prophesied that in the late twentieth century
An angel of death shall waste this land
A holocaust the likes of which this planet had never seen
Now, I ask you
Do you believe this to be true?
I was standing by the bedside the night that my father died
He was crying out in pain
To his God, he said, "Have mercy, mercy!"
His body was riddled with a disease unknown to man
So he expected no cure
But before he died that night he was lost, insane
He went down, down
Deep underground
A great disaster
You'll go down, down
Deep underground
A great disaster
You'll go down, down
Deep underground
A great disaster
