   It's wattage. Most mods (the part with the battery and screen and buttons) have variable power settings.
   
   50w is more for ejuice, but not nicotine salts. Only nicotine freebase juices. There are smaller and less powerful devices for salts.
   
   5w is more for thc cartridges. Do 50w on one of those tho and you'll burn it out and either make it unusable or really gross and hard to inhale from.
