yeah, maybe a little heavy on the rhetoric but it's mostly a reaction to mainstream western media refusing to report on the heavy use of NSDAP symbolism and ideological currents in the so-called volunteer battalions (article specifically mentions Right Sector), as well as all the 'Trident' umbrella groups and even large segments of the military nowadays

To clarify, I'm not particularly invested in their ideology either way, but I can't help but find it absurd that the politicians in the US calling people who don't want confederate statues torn down 'nazis' are openly supporting (politically, financially and with heavy arms) groups that literally wear SS insignia and carry out ethnic purges

    its only when politicians meant what they said and became what they claimed to be that you should worry;

Netenyahu's stepping up the rhetoric against Iran and Hezbullah again, bringing posters to the UN claiming that circled sites around a satellite photo of Beirut Airport are missile upgrade sites and that warehouses in Tehran house over 300 tonnes (!) of enriched nuclear material.

Lebanon's officially offered to organize a tour of the so-called missile factories, and Iran's made the statement that he should bring evidence to his 'arts and crafts shows' if he means to make serious accusations.

I've had a hard time finding specifics on that. Everyone seems to think it was the ISIS pocket in eastern Syria that the US/SDF is trying to absorb but no official word.

Don't worry, there's no way Turkey's getting Idlib under control so we can expect a restart of Idlib Dawn in 2-3 weeks.

nah. minor conflicts and minor offenses are getting boring.

what the world needs badly right now is a major conflict. major, balls on balls @ balls depth kind of conflict.

Hassan nasrallah gives me warm fuzzies, I so wish they didn't become a sectarian militia as they used to literally take all (including some druze). Hezbollah should be securing the western border (as they've been doing very effectively) instead of spreading shiiteism with Iran. They could be becoming a legitimate institution in Syria and entrenching themselves in the government the same way they did in Lebanon but they're busy stoking the sectarian divide.

They have more jedi bashing balls than anyone in the area but they've fallen into the divide and conquer plan pretty quickly. How far they have fallen....

S-300PM launchers; apparently 24 units with 300+ missiles.

They're being a lot more cagey on the targeting radars and fire control systems (they've stated current-generation systems have been provided but no specifics) as well as the ECM/EW systems being deployed though - no word, official or otherwise.

    Will write more later.

I told 2 people about the Israeli goading Russia into attacking and both literally said "what I didn't hear about that"

It took every ounce of strength I have not to say "because the jedis"

    I've been neglecting this thread.

It's been confirmed that Russia has moved multiple KRASUKHA-4 and ZHITEL electronic warfare systems into Syria to be deployed at undisclosed locations, but it is likely there have been other unannounced transfers as well. It seems likely to me that the recent 'accidental' US attack on it's own Kurdish proxies may have been the result of those EW systems, but without any proof it's just as likely to have happened without outside interference.

The Khoshoggi disappearance is interesting geopolitically too - KSA does this sort of shit all the time; there's no organic reason why he should've gotten international media attention and outrage. Part of it is that he was a journalist and worked with the 'distinguished' Washington Post, but israel never sees significant (mainstream) outrage when they kill or maim journalists, so I doubt that was the sole cause. The US government has more or less shown that it doesn't care as long as arms and fuel contracts are maintained, so why all this pressure?

Turkey is behind it, fueling outrage in the media and social media, leaking bits and pieces of evidence they almost certainly have as a slow threat against KSA. This is likely to force the compliance of Gulf-backed militant groups in Idlib to fold into the Turkish-owned FSA as well as to try to drive in the wedge between the US and KSA, and possibly even israel.

If Turkey manages to take control of and unify the rebels in Idlib, Syria will be facing two simultaneous attempts to partition the country. In this scenario we could see Syria, with the backing and full support of Russia and Iran pushing forward to drive Turkey out entirely, but Turkey will almost certainly strike a deal with the US/SDF and we'll see a proper kinetic war start.

Oh yeah, hours after the shooting at Kerch College in Crimea, Lavrov makes the statement that Russia is prepared to respond to 'further large-scale provocations' from the US. Interesting coincidence.

israel's sent a delegation to the Ukraine to probe Russian AA tech, specifically the S300BM series deployed in Syria - likely to test the F35's stealth coating against it. Probably not a worthwhile move as Ukraine does not have current-generation Russian radar, and the specific units deployed in Syria have not been disclosed.

The US has drafted yet another list of companies to be sanctioned, this time contractors tasked with helping to rebuild Syria.
