ive always had chevy trucks. the only reason i bought this for was because no one else had a V10 truck
My brother's an Ag engineer. He went to a Dodge plant in college and said everything about their trucks is great, except that they undeniably rust out the fastest.
Between the salt in the winter, the gravel roads I drive on, and the humidity in the summers here you gotta be pretty anal about washing a newer truck or do what I did and get an older one that you don't care if it gets rusty. -

I dont drive it from first snow till its rained for a few weeks in the spring so it stays rust free.
Ive had it for 10 years and its only asked for 2 fuel pumps and a starter, oh and front break pads one time other than the afore mentioned parts -

yep. dodge has shit-tier bodies/frames but the best engine. ford has shit-tier engines but the best frame/bodies (before the aluminum bullshit. chevy has mediocre everything but the best auto transmissions. based on my experience chevy has shit-tier trannys as well.
the irony is, every single 'good' mechanic that i know drives a dodge truck.
my truck pisses me off royally with rust. i regularly spray the underbody and exposed metal with low-viscosity oil of some sort yet it still gets rusty. -
