I had a professor in my undergrad who had a mental breakdown a semester after I graduated, flipped the fuck out pretty publicly, and moved out to some rural area and became a "gentleman farmer" (in his own words). He was actually a huge cunt and I skipped most his classes, but I think it was one of those cases of hating someone else because they reflect what you hate most about yourself. Anyway, I figure that's about the least graceful way to go out, might as well get crucified for something before society decides you no longer provide more utility than suffering your idiosyncrasies is worth.
