I'm not sure about "one of the wisest men in history", Socrates is more significant as the founding figure of the western philosophical tradition than as someone contributed all that much content to the field. A number of the dialogs are pretty clearly self-contradictory, like his whole thing on learning in Meno is just him being a pedantic shit. It's pretty common interpretation of dialogs like these is that he's just trying to cast doubt rather than make an actual positive claim.
Like this one, it's absolutely trivial to find someone who has had a waking experience preferable to dreamless sleep. -

lol the weirdest shit always happens you're high. I went to the gym on a psychedelic once, and for some reason there was a class happening and they all started doing this weird Egyptian dance around the gym in a circle. That NEVER happens, it was so fucked. -
