All the models say that only Miami is really going to get ass raped, the rest of us are pretty dandy.
Clearwater is far enough inland that it won't get obscenely raped like a coastal city would.
they don't know the path for sure but the ones I'm seeing have it lining up just south of the tip of Florida then taking a hard right to cruise right on through the the entire state.
it's a cat-5 now. yee ha. -

2017-09-06 at 3:26 AM UTCi just got home from grocery shopping...or more appropriately...trying to grocery shop. jesus fuck, its a fucking mad house out there. i knew i shouldnt have left my house.
- there are cops everywhere
- every gas station has a line of cars at every pump and half of the gas stations have tanker-trucks blocking half the traffic
i wasnt out to buy anything specifically for the hurricane...just my normal grocery shopping i do on a regular basis. that didnt happen. the bread aisle was completely empty...the gatorade aisle...water aisle...canned item aisle...all empty.
to top it all off...the store was packed with customers. i specifically shop this late at night because there are fewer people in my way. not tonight...it was ridiculous. -

it was...and is
these fucking retail stores know exactly what everyone is going to buy when a hurricane shows up...it happens every time. and every time...the shelves are empty.
its not hard to transport the items from non-affected areas using the same trucks/trains/cargo containers that they use normally to the areas that need the items.
i was doing normal shopping and the store was out of peanut butter, rice-drink, bread, crackers, and water. oddly enough there was the normal, filled, shelves with cup-of-soups. plenty of frozen and cold shit available to buy because all these dumb mother fuckers live in a power-failure-prone area and dont have generators. i filled my fridge up with milk...eggs...and different kinds of frozen foods. -
2017-09-06 at 4:31 AM UTCMy dad is in Miami and says the stores are all out of water and propane.
