First you boil some taters, get em nice and soft, peal the skin off, then you SMASH em real hard. After theyre all smashed you add a teeeeny bit of milk to make it smooth and nice. After its the right consistency you add some of your seasonings if you want, i dont, after all thats mixed in well, this is where the fun part begins. You take some shredded cheese, any kind works, and you sprinkle it on top, then you scoop around the bowl to put more mashed tater on top, add some more cheese until you’re satisfied. Pop that thang in the microwave for 15 seconds and then you take it out, mix well, and you eat them taters

Peel before boiling.
Add butter, salt, and pepper while mashing.
Add half & half after mashing to make smooth and creamy

I never peeled my taters, the most nutrients are in the skin and quite frankly the skins are delicious too.
Of course consumption of taters are a thing of the past for me now

Nothing like a crispy (no pun intended) tater skin..even better if there's a bit of cow/horse shit stuck to the skin you didn't quite wash off.
