I am very lucky to be working. Also very lucky to be making the same as I was before the downturn. Many companies have reduced their wages to compensate for the lack of work.

Thats actually one of the states I was looking at moving to. The current economic situation has me feeling completely hopeless and depressed right now, I was able to ignore it for the past 5 years hiding away in the mountains but now that I'm back in the city reality has hit me hard.
I thought I could just move here, get a job, get a vehicle and boom bing boggle flip some 20's be a hard worker and get rich quick but some of the hardest working people I know are struggling with no hope right now.
I just want to give up on this country and take a van to North Dakota, Washington or a weed legal state and work my way south and become nomadic. I just don't know anymore.
All my co workers feel the same, none of us want to be here. -

How would you know how much cooks make, you've never even had a job and you rarely interact with the outside world.
A lot of cooks at places that may not necessarily be the "swankiest" but consistently have business definitely make around that much, sometimes even more.
Last year at this time I worked off 6th street downtown here in austin around all the clubs and bars and while I didn't cook, I worked the front end and delivered and I was making 18-25 an hour.
It's funny how people that have never worked like to shit on people that actually try to do something for themselves.
That chick privacy cunt would go on and on about how I worked at a pizza place and its a wet back job.. I guess it depends on the pizza place.. but I didn't work with any wetbacks..
