S&W .500 can deliver over 4200 Ft/Lbs of muzzle energy from an 8 inch barrel. Even with a 10 inch barrel about the best you will get with Gvt 45-70 is around 1500 Ft/Lbs of muzzle energy. The Gvt 45-70 was designed as a rifle round. To reach it's maximum potential of just under 5000 Ft/Lbs it needs to be fired from a 20 inch barrel or possibly longer depending on the brand, weight of the projectile, and whether they are hollow points, FMJ, ballistic tip etc. So no, the BFR in 45-70 does not pack the punch of any revolver chambered in S&W .500. -

Someone took photos of Baldwin on the phone right after the murder, when Baldy was probably still trying to figure out what was going on.

I agree that his actions were negligent, especially for someone who seems generally fearful of firearms. A reasonable person must assume every firearm is loaded, but it's the set armorer's job to ensure that isn't the case when it reaches the hands of an actor. Firing a gun towards the camera for a shot may necessitate aiming the gun toward other people (which is what I suspect happened, since he tagged the cinematographer and director). It's not murder. At worst, negligent homicide. Words have meanings.
