I find the trick is never learn something before you need it. Don't learn something beforehand that you will never use. When you need something specific, then you learn it, and only then. Wasting your time and effort on useless and pointless things is just self-defeating. You could be spending that time and energy on something practical.

The HP Small Factor Form is very nice little machine, with a 3.2ghz Intel I3 6100 processor and up to 32 gigs RAM, and an Intel onboard graphics chip (HD graphics 530) that can run 97% of all popular games smoothly and without issue. Comes with built in WiFi and a 1 TB hard drive. Usually around $175 or less, used. Cost for performance, it's your best bet. The box is also small enough that it can easily be handled. They're built to last, too. All I've seen, they've lasted since they came out without issue.

I used to use the farmers' fields, which had large hills here and there on them. Miles of flat land, so you could take it to top speed, and you only had to watch out for the fences.

I had one of those old yellow 1970's Bombardiers, built like a tank, and I took it straight up an 80 degree face up some 100-120 yards, and when I got right to the top, just about to get onto the ledge above, the front end came back and the whole machine went end over end all the way down, flipping at least 20 times. I abandoned ship on the first flip, then went down, turned it upright, cranked it up, and it ran good as new. Those old-school machines sure took a licking and kept on ticking.
