I've ridden bikes before, but never a sport bike, so I fully expect to go down once or twice but hopefully not. As much as I'd love to go brand new, i wouldn't want to tear up a $7k investment if they're only good for one wreck. I know if I go down on a full-fairing sport bike I'll probably have to replace the fairings, but what about a "naked bike" or streetfighter? Do they tear up easy?
I'm 6 feet tall and over 250 pounds so I'll probably have to get 500cc or higher
Leaning toward kawasaki or Suzuki, but if a Yamaha or Honda calls my name I would get it.

as far as pricing on used bikes...its like anything else automotive-related: depends on the seller. i bought a $8000 bike for $5000 because the dudes wife was 'making' him sell it and i was the only one that answered his newspaper classifieds ad.
nowadays bike prices are ridiculous and dealing with the dealers is a bullshit hassle. $10k for a CBR600...$12k for a CBR1000...$18k for a S1000RR...fuck bike dealerships. twice i went into a dealership (one honda...one BMW) with approved financing from my personal bank and couldnt get the salesman to stop being jedis on their inflated 'deals' so i went home with my money and they kept their overpriced junk.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

things ive heard of people doing when they get vexed:
- sharp objects retrieved from one department (screwdriver, meat-thermometer, etc) brought to another department with expensive and large-sized liquid container (synthetic motor oil, various multi-gallon sized cleaning solutions, largest sized liquid laundry deterget) then jammed in. options are to leave sharp object inside container, jam in then remove, or jam in then leave rigged so the next person to remove the item in front of it will extract the 'plug'
- security magnet removed from an item then placed in offending customers person somehow. their purse...cart...etc. it has to be something that wont be scanned and deactivated. i know someone who despised their ex and every time they were in walmart or kmart would stick the glue ones to the bottom of her cart then find somewhere else to be when she was going thru the doors.
- fuckers blocking aisles with their cart are simple. accelerate to a decent speed and use your own shopping cart as a ram. after doing it a few times you get the hang of quickly evaluating what the contents of both carts are and how those contents are arranged then orienting the actual contact point and direction appropriately. i know someone who buys a lot of gallon-sized water containers and when there are nine to twelve gallons of it in the cart...mass always wins. i also konw someone else who managed to hit some dumb niggers cart which was blocking an aisle width-wise to where her purse fell from the top of the cart to the lower part and spilled her shit everywhere. woops. the best response ive ever heard of hearing about was 'watch where youre going.' the most common response is 'really?' and 'seriously?'
