The Canada Emergency Response Benefit was a $500/week payment for 28 weeks, ending October 3rd. Anyone could apply, everyone was accepted regardless of whether they ultimately met the eligibility requirements or not. I wasn't eligible because I'm on disability, so I didn't because I had little need and no interest in being on the hook to pay back $14000. I just received my normal monthly amount, which is a pittance relative to what everyone else was getting. Not that I'm complaining. -

This was also in 2015. 5 years ago. You know what else I started doing 5 years ago? I started playing ukulele. Now I'm a published author who makes up blues songs on the fly to wind down between writing sessions.
That's what I'm talking about though man. You stuck it out for 5 more years, you got good, you saw it as practice and just kept hammering away at it despite people talking immense amounts of shit over something you were clearly passionate enough about to keep doing for 5 more years. Not gonna lie, I envy the shit out of that. I can handle a lot of things and a lot of the shit talking I get, but writing and music... there isn't much that'd be closer to my soul than that. I'd be mortified dealing with this community when it comes to that stuff.
