Nope. Totally original -SpectraL wisdom. But, to tell you the truth, I got the vibe from King Solomon. Balance.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."

Originally posted by aldra I've never been bitten. Seen plenty of redbacks (gotta be careful putting your hands in small gaps, picking up bricks etc., I think they're virtually the same as black widows), mouse spiders, huntsmans etc.

Huntsmans are everywhere, people tend to be terrified of them because they're huge but they're mostly harmless and clear out other bugs like cockroaches. Once one fell out of a tree and landed on my face over my eye, and I instinctively punched myself in the face to kill it. I don't know what the statistic is but a good number of road accidents every year are due to a huntsman coming out of the air vent and running across the windshield or something, causing the driver to freak out and drive off the road.

I've seen a few snakes, a red belly black snake turned up at my primary school once, saw a few brown snakes on my grandparents' property in the country - they had dogs that would spot them, then my granddad would kill them with a stick.
