We actually owe them a thank you, because the Americans invaded some of our bases along the St. Lawrence River, and we fought back fiercely, but we didn't have the required numbers, and then the Americans made it all the way up into Montreal and set up camp, so the Brits sent in reinforcements for us numbering in the thousands. Without them, we would have been fucked. We and the Brits then pushed the Americans back over the St. Lawrence and drove them so far inland that we were able to burn down their Whitehouse and major government buildings before retreating back to Canada.
