It better be sexy, SpectraL apparently browses the web with it.

It's a web browser called Maxthon, made by the Chinese. It got good reviews on the Net. But after careful examination of its traffic, I've discovered it has a hidden service in it which impersonates a legitimate certificate in order to capture credentials/passwords, and then it sends the info off to a server in China. It has since been eliminated.

Pretty sure Specturd lives in a state of constant fear. Only one way to stop it.

No, I'm not bullshitting you, man. It was a decade of pure hell.

Specifically it illustrates why decentralization of security responsibility is a bad idea. The reason I brought it up though was that the idea that we all need to have lethal force usable at personal discretion (as opposed to something like a military which requires some non-personal (usually) decision process to be used) relies on the notion that such "defense" is necessary, this is Hobbes' controversial point. You usually land in the wing nut libertarian camp so it's ironic that on this issue you, like me, accept the Hobbesian premise, you just don't grasp what it implies (that strong central government is necessary as opposed to, as you would believe, that we all just need bigger sticks to defend ourselves from each other)

There would have to be a strictly divisive nature about it, even if you go down both roads. It's like, we can't have the best of both worlds, no matter which direction we take. So, in that case, I'd rather be responsible for the bad things which will ultimately happen to me either way, than have somebody else be responsible for what happens to me. It's not really about wanting to be divisive just for the sake of being divisive, it's just owning your own life and what happens to you, and how you get to react to the world, not someone else reacting for you.

Do you actually believe your own lies or do you just hope you'll convince others?

Every word I stated is the exact truth.

You're choking a dead horse, Rodent. Give it up.
  12. -SpectraL coward [the spuriously bluish-lilac bushman]
Your ducking and diving leaves much to be desired as you continue to age at an accelerated rate.

You're one to be pointing fingers for ducking and diving, Rodent. Why don't you announce to the world who you really are? Within the Totse scheme of things, I mean. Can't bring yourself to do it, can ya? For reasons knownst only to you. Now shut the fuck up and come up with better insults, or I'll have to get rough with you.

    And then you woke up.

    Not scary.

So you were a cable installation monkey.

And thanks for the explanation Sophie.

I worked what's called "super queues". That's where you handle everything, including support for VOIP, DSL, wireless, cable TV, cable Internet, billing, sales, retention, web server support, e-mail support, abuse, dispatching, work orders, new installs, moves, telephony, business accounts and support, hotels, casinos, small and large businesses, you name it, I supported it. Not only did I specialize in all these fields, I handled what is called the "escalations desk", where you get all the shit no one else can figure out or can't handle, as well as running the call center, including quality control, tracking, call volume management, reporting, training, and various employee issues. I worked the escalations desk at the tier2 level for 10 years for various large companies, where performance metrics must be scores of 95% or higher at all times. I had to learn all of those systems from top to bottom, and everything in between. So I know what I'm talking about when I say they know a lot more about you than you think they know. And if they don't know, it's only because they haven't bothered to check. But they can.

You can't hack. Is that a good enough reason?

This post alone should be enough for anyone to realize you know nothing.

    Please explain.

Only dumb beta pussies are so scared of the world that they think literally every member of the citizenry needs to be able to murder at the drop of a hat. Like I always catch flack for having a Hobbesian outlook but you do too, you're just too oblivious to realize what it entails.

I don't see what the Hobbesian Trap has to do with being able to take care of yourself without needing someone else to do it for you.
  20. -SpectraL coward [the spuriously bluish-lilac bushman]
Sure, if you're an idiot like you.

They're not idiots either, contrary to your misinformed opinion. I worked for Time Warner, AT&T, Charter and Roadrunner for years, so I can attest to the fact from personal experience that they know a lot more about you and your activities than you think they do. The only issue is they just haven't gotten around to you yet, but they will, eventually.
