He's saying that if the 4-year-old consents, then that should be OK, and that would be fine with him.

Can we please get back to the intimidation?

It's the way the brain works. It subconsciously tries to cover for the "side" of itself it perceives as the weakest.

In the early '90's, you had to have a "qualifying product", as a prerequisite, before you could install Windows, even if you bought the Windows operating system. You had to first have MS-DOS6.0 fully installed before Windows would even think about installing. Point being, the user had to actually have at least some basic knowledge of computing before being permitted to go any further. Mindless asshats needed not apply.

Right-handed liars tend to glance to the left while lying. Left-handed liars tend to glance to the right while lying.

Lanny predictably leaves out the fact that there are perfectly fine generic drivers out there, which can be used for GPUs for which no XP driver exists, and his comment about "VRAM is part of a process's virtual address space" really only confirms my initial statement: that the GPU enhances the XP operating system's ability to take on more resource-intensive applications.

Depends on your interpretation of "facts". For example, it could be a "fact" to you that you saw a pink elephant in the clouds, and your testimony could be used as a factual account in court, but from another person's perspective, your testimony is not a fact, it is merely a personal belief. So, yes, in the world we now live in, there CAN be alternate "facts". "Facts" are no longer a thing which has been scientifically established beyond all doubt; they are now sourced from belief systems, depending on which side of the fence those belief systems stand.

What Lanny fails to mention is that, even though the memory limitation on the operating system itself is 4GB, the graphics accelerator can have as much video RAM as you like, so it's not really an issue at all to run graphic intensive programs, such as modern games.
